Super Cruise
Looking at a Lyriq for my older mom. How good is the Super Cruise? Is it anything close to TeslaFSD? She is 82, doing ok driving but I’m starting to notice some things. She’s open to the idea which is good and I’m thinking it could keep
her safe and driving much longer than I’d probably accept otherwise.
We are in a very small rural town so mostly her driving is to church, meeting friends for lunch and grocery store. Nothing too much.
Or is Super Cruise just a better form of lane assist and not at all to be used point to point?

A Grand Rapids Road Tradition: Remembering the "Cadillac-Lincoln Thumbs Up"
I wanted to share a quick story about a wonderful piece of local road folklore right here in Grand Rapids that some of you might remember or have even experienced yourself.
Back in 1996, a man named Mark Frazine (whom some of you might know as "Mark Freezin") started a silent road tradition entirely his own on the streets of Grand Rapids. Mark always had a deep admiration for the character, class, and respectability of the folks who chose to drive classic American luxury cars—specifically Cadillacs and Lincolns. He felt that the people behind the wheel of those vehicles were stand-up, respectful individuals who brought a sense of traditional pride to our West Michigan community.
To show his appreciation, whenever a Cadillac or a Lincoln crossed his path, Mark would catch the driver's eye and proudly offer a firm, genuine thumbs up. It wasn't about flash; it was just his way of saying, "I see you, I respect you, and thank you for keeping it classy."
What started as a personal habit grew into a beautiful grassroots tradition of spreading goodwill and old-school respect on our local roads.
The Code of the Road: A Tribute to Mark Frazine's "Cadillac-Lincoln Thumbs Up"
In 1996, the open road of Grand Rapids, Michigan was filled with the heavy, quiet elegance of classic American luxury. It was an era of long hoods, chrome grilles, and smooth rides—dominated by two legendary names: Cadillac and Lincoln. For most people, these cars were just symbols of status. But for Mark Frazine, they represented something much deeper: character, dignity, and a standard of class.
Mark believed that the people behind the wheels of these iconic vehicles weren't just drivers; they were stand-up, respectful individuals who brought a sense of traditional pride to the community. He felt that in a fast-moving world, the decency and elegance these drivers represented deserved to be recognized.
So, in 1996, Mark started a silent tradition entirely his own.
Whenever a Fleetwood, a Town Car, a DeVille, or a Continental crossed his path on a local Grand Rapids street or highway, Mark would catch the driver's eye and proudly offer a firm, genuine thumbs up. It wasn't about flash, and it wasn't a joke—it was a pure handshake from a distance. It was his way of saying, "I see you, I respect you, and thank you for keeping it classy."
What began as a personal habit grew into a beautiful piece of grassroots West Michigan road folklore. To the drivers who received it, that simple gesture from Mark was a sudden spark of validation—a reminder that old-school respect wasn't dead. Mark didn't need a billboard or a massive organization to spread goodwill; he just used a simple, universal sign of approval to elevate the day of anyone driving America's finest steel.
Today, we honor Mark Frazine's "Cadillac-Lincoln Thumbs Up"—a reminder that true class is worth acknowledging, and that a small act of respect can leave a lasting tire track on the hearts of many.
Did anyone else ever receive a thumbs up from Mark out on the road around Grand Rapids, or remember seeing him do this? Would love to hear your memories!

Key FOB not working
2015 Cadillac CTS 2.0T Bought about a year ago from an auction sale. Came with 1 aftermarket key fob. About 3 weeks ago, key fob stopped locking/unlocking car. Remote start not working. Car only unlocks when standing directly next to it, using outdoor button handles. Changed out the battery in key fob. Still not working. Car does recognizes key fob for push to start and even when I leave the key in the car.
NOTE: About a year ago, when I got the car - took it to the GM dealership for a “check up” see what was up with it. I did get a bunch of U Codes - some for the ECM.
What could be wrong? Is it the transmitter not receiving signal?

Went with a rear conversion kit after being quoted over $4,000 for new air ride ....
Got quoted over $4,000 to replace the rear air shocks , unfortunately I didnt have that to put in this vehicle at this time , so i did some research and found a conversion kit for under $300 that came with coil springs, shocks and a module to trick the system into thinking the air ride is still there , just pulled the fuse for the compressor (even though it wasnt working) just to be safe , it rode really rough on the blown air ride , so this is a major improvement, the vehicle is now higher in the rear like its supposed to be , and even the acceleration and handling has improved , glides over pot holes and just feels so much more solid and safe all together now .

2015 XTS V Sport Crayon Smell
I recently got a 2015 XTS V Sport. I love everything about it but the interior has a weird smell that is something like crayons.
Any similar experiences or recommended fixes?

Am I making the right call?
So I’m about to buy this 2020 CT5 550T Premium Luxury and I just want to know if I’m getting a good deal? The car was originally from Florida sold for 41k at 20k miles. Im in Michigan and it’s only experienced one winter here and got purchased in July 2025 and had 33k miles put on it. The car currently sits at 63k miles and the seller reached a deal with me at $27,500. I feel like it’s kind of steep but the car comes from two owners, clean title, 130k mile powertrain, transmission, and bumper to bumper warranty, aftermarket wheels, catback straight pipe, and a JB4 tune. Am I getting a good deal?

Any potential buyers for the next gen Cadillac ct5V Black Wing?
I am thinking that the next gen blackwing might be my next car in a few years if the stars align. Unfortunately it's so expensive and I have plenty car right now that Id have to wait a few years to save up for one, but if and when they announce a new one in 2027, I might be looking at trading in my Camaro and ordering a new blackwing. I know theyve only announced that it will have an ice engine but nothing else. There are rumors about it having the new 6.7 liter v8 and a manual but nothing is confirmed. Anybody holding out for something similar? Part of me is also skeptical that they will continue to pump out cars with manuals in 2027 since everyone is going EV, but I am hopeful that GM continues to appeal to enthusiasts. Id buy it now but I just cant justify straining myself financially quite yet. If I end up not liking the new ct5V blackwing for any reason I might consider buying a used one instead, hopefully with low miles. Its a bummer that it takes years of budgeting to be able to afford some of these expensive luxury sports cars, but by the time I can afford it, they may not even be producing them anymore 😭

What lead me to Cadillac
I cudda had a V.
On August 2025 I drove off the Ford lot with a 6K miles Mach-E GT for $41K out the door which was a steal. I caught them on the last day of the quarter. I had been looking to get one for a couple months.
At first I enjoyed doing 0-60 in 3.3 seconds. At about the 1 years mark I came to realize going 0-60 in an EV is just look eating empty calories. I felt the acceleration but I didn't feel anything else. So I decided to sell it to Carvana. Carvana gave me $38K. That's when it hit the me. I saw a base type CTS Coupe and decided to add it to the deal. Carvana kicked in an extra grand for selling them a car and subsequently buying a car.
Since 2011 I have wanted a CTS Coupe but I completely forgot about it. Had I remembered the CTS Coupe I would never have bought the Mach-E.
I knew that I would exercise my 7 day return to Carvana because I wanted a Premium. So I had Carvana pick up the base type model.
I found this 40K miles Premium for $17K.
If I had thought about a CTS Coupe in August 25,since my funds were better, I cudda had a V.

My first car was a 1991 Cadillac Fleetwood Coupe.
It was baby blue with a blue leather interior.
Super nice car and I loved driving it. But was old and falling apart and I was 19 with no money to fix it so I had to trade it in.
I hope it wasn't scrapped, and that someone bought it and restored it.
I loved that car.

Looking into getting a 2016 SRX AWD
My mom has a 2016 jeep patriot that I want to trade in to get her an SRX. I've read the 16 model is the best as the quirks were worked out albeit having dim head lights, a infotainment system that's questionable, and sun roof leaks caused by blocked drains. Any other things I should be wary about? Does it sound like a good upgrade for an elderly woman? I dispise jeep because if their quality and already have an 13 Escalade I love just wanna add to the caddy family.

Opinions?
Going to check out this 2003 Escalade tomorrow. I have owned a Chevy's and a few Gmc's but have never looked at a Cadillac. Opinions on the price and what to look for?

Tire advice for a 2017 Cadillac ATS 2.0T Luxury Coupe (AWD)
I want to switch to tires for more cushion. I'm currently on the stock staggered setup:
Front: 225/40R18
Rear: 255/35R18
Dealerships say I can use other sizes (nothing specific) but they only carry stock.
AI says I can move up to 2 different options.
Front: 235/40R18
Rear: 265/35R18
Or
Front: 225/45R18
Rear: 255/40R18
What do real owners/drivers say?

2023 CT5 Issue
Question for everybody here:
I bought a 2023 CT5 AWD last week and all was fine for the first few days. Starting yesterday I've been experiencing hard downshifts specifically when accelerating lightly between 7 and 6. I have been able to fully replicate it. It does not happen when not accelerating. The jerk is also worse or better depending on how much I'm accelerating when it downshifts. It can be anywhere from a light bump to a hard jerk.
Any ideas beyond the obvious? I am taking it to CarMax tomorrow morning to have them look at it again.

Whats a good price to sell my CTS?
Ive had her for about 3 years now its time to let her go .
2011 Cadillac cts 3.6L Performance Edition
200k miles
Clean title
Tags till next year
Oil changes every 3.5k miles
No major mechanical issues
Does have cosmetic issues such as ripped center console ripped seats but other that runs great.
My question is What would be good price to sell it at? I dont want to lowball myself but I also know its not the best car out there. I was thinking $2.5K OBO

Looking at the ATS
Hey, I'm going to look at a couple manual ATS's this weekend. I was wondering if there is anything I should be on the look for. What are some of the known issues to be on the look for? I am from Ontario so I'll be on the look for rust and rot as per usual.
The first car is a 2017 with 89k kms and the other is a 2013 with 130k kms. From the pictures they both look decent enough. Didn't see any rust or dents.
Also the CUE system Cadillacs have, what are the issues?

My (24) 2014 CTS 2.0T Luxury Sedan and 2011 CTS 3.6 Performance Coupe
I’ve had the 14’ for about 7 months now and I just picked up the 11’ 6 days ago to replace the 14’ as the daily.
Absolutely in love with the coupe and prefer to drive it more over the 14’. Of course I’m still very young so I enjoy the race car/ performance feel paired with luxury, over the business executive luxury feel.
However when I need to go out to eat, come to an event, or I want to wear something formal… the sedan compliments that perfectly. First time having 2 cars registered and insured at one time so it’s been fun.
