Cadillac, a strategic partner of Esso. This represents the limit of the instrument cluster, not the limit of the car itself.

Super Cruise

Looking at a Lyriq for my older mom. How good is the Super Cruise? Is it anything close to TeslaFSD? She is 82, doing ok driving but I’m starting to notice some things. She’s open to the idea which is good and I’m thinking it could keep
her safe and driving much longer than I’d probably accept otherwise.

We are in a very small rural town so mostly her driving is to church, meeting friends for lunch and grocery store. Nothing too much.

Or is Super Cruise just a better form of lane assist and not at all to be used point to point?

A Grand Rapids Road Tradition: Remembering the "Cadillac-Lincoln Thumbs Up"

I wanted to share a quick story about a wonderful piece of local road folklore right here in Grand Rapids that some of you might remember or have even experienced yourself.

Back in 1996, a man named Mark Frazine (whom some of you might know as "Mark Freezin") started a silent road tradition entirely his own on the streets of Grand Rapids. Mark always had a deep admiration for the character, class, and respectability of the folks who chose to drive classic American luxury cars—specifically Cadillacs and Lincolns. He felt that the people behind the wheel of those vehicles were stand-up, respectful individuals who brought a sense of traditional pride to our West Michigan community.

To show his appreciation, whenever a Cadillac or a Lincoln crossed his path, Mark would catch the driver's eye and proudly offer a firm, genuine thumbs up. It wasn't about flash; it was just his way of saying, "I see you, I respect you, and thank you for keeping it classy."

What started as a personal habit grew into a beautiful grassroots tradition of spreading goodwill and old-school respect on our local roads.

The Code of the Road: A Tribute to Mark Frazine's "Cadillac-Lincoln Thumbs Up"

In 1996, the open road of Grand Rapids, Michigan was filled with the heavy, quiet elegance of classic American luxury. It was an era of long hoods, chrome grilles, and smooth rides—dominated by two legendary names: Cadillac and Lincoln. For most people, these cars were just symbols of status. But for Mark Frazine, they represented something much deeper: character, dignity, and a standard of class.

Mark believed that the people behind the wheels of these iconic vehicles weren't just drivers; they were stand-up, respectful individuals who brought a sense of traditional pride to the community. He felt that in a fast-moving world, the decency and elegance these drivers represented deserved to be recognized.

So, in 1996, Mark started a silent tradition entirely his own.

Whenever a Fleetwood, a Town Car, a DeVille, or a Continental crossed his path on a local Grand Rapids street or highway, Mark would catch the driver's eye and proudly offer a firm, genuine thumbs up. It wasn't about flash, and it wasn't a joke—it was a pure handshake from a distance. It was his way of saying, "I see you, I respect you, and thank you for keeping it classy."

What began as a personal habit grew into a beautiful piece of grassroots West Michigan road folklore. To the drivers who received it, that simple gesture from Mark was a sudden spark of validation—a reminder that old-school respect wasn't dead. Mark didn't need a billboard or a massive organization to spread goodwill; he just used a simple, universal sign of approval to elevate the day of anyone driving America's finest steel.

Today, we honor Mark Frazine's "Cadillac-Lincoln Thumbs Up"—a reminder that true class is worth acknowledging, and that a small act of respect can leave a lasting tire track on the hearts of many.

Did anyone else ever receive a thumbs up from Mark out on the road around Grand Rapids, or remember seeing him do this? Would love to hear your memories!

09 sts 4.6L cylinder 7 is giving me this compression of about 30 with the fuel pump fuse out. And then with the fuel pump back on it was no difference. The other cylinder by it was giving me 90 - 120 psi. Am I looking at buying a new car?

Key FOB not working

2015 Cadillac CTS 2.0T Bought about a year ago from an auction sale. Came with 1 aftermarket key fob. About 3 weeks ago, key fob stopped locking/unlocking car. Remote start not working. Car only unlocks when standing directly next to it, using outdoor button handles. Changed out the battery in key fob. Still not working. Car does recognizes key fob for push to start and even when I leave the key in the car.

NOTE: About a year ago, when I got the car - took it to the GM dealership for a ā€œcheck upā€ see what was up with it. I did get a bunch of U Codes - some for the ECM.

What could be wrong? Is it the transmitter not receiving signal?

I have a 2016 ATS and i just recently replaced the headlight bulb. Problem is that it won’t turn on even though i’ve checked the fuse and connections. The other one is working fine, but idk what could be the problem. My blinkers and other lights work it’s just the headlight bulb.

Replacing vacuum pump

My brake went stiff and my car wasn’t stopping and I brought it to the mechanic I usually go to for repairs and they told me I had a bad vacuum pump and the price was money I don’t have right now. So I made the decision to get the car towed so I could just try to do it myself.

I followed some tutorials and took out my wipers, wiper motor, and the trim. I got two of the bolts off the vacuum pump but I really cannot reach the third one no matter what I try. I’ve been trying to figure out the tool that everyone is using to get to the final bolt but I can’t find quite the right thing…I feel so dumb.

I’m exhausted from working on this for like 4 days after work everyday and then being up till like 5-6am and getting like an hour and a half of sleep before heading to work again. I feel like I’m losing my sanity. Someone please help me find the tool 😭
