Spoilers inside! Was Andrew telling the truth about The Scoobies no longer trusting Angel because he was running Wolfram & Hart?
Hopefully someone who read the Buffy comics can help, but I got the impression that Andrew was fronting really hard in Angel season 5, when he claimed that Buffy ordered him to retrieve Dana, the mentally ill Slayer seen in Damaged. Was this ever discussed in the Buffy comics, the gang finding out about Angel being put in charge of Wolfram & Hart?

Content Warning Thoughts as someone who finished Buffy as a first time watcher 😭Can you guys also give me all your opinions. What did I likely miss as someone who misses a lot… Spoiler
galleryMy season rankings : 5>2>3=4>1>6>>>>>7
lol also some of my favorite moments ^
Anya 🤍 initially in season 4 I didn’t like her character but by season 5 and onwards I ended up loving her and she was my favorite in all of the scenes. She’s funny and adds a lot of character and light to the group. I love her one liners 😭 I was also tearing up when she was crying about how no one would tell her “why” in regards to Buffy’s mom dying </3 her death at the end of season 7 hurt 💔
Season five absolutely blew the rest out of the waters. I mean it was anazing, I felt as if all the characters were starting to reach their potential with story telling and growth. Dawn was added in beautifully. I almost convinced myself that her dad must have had her and they were separated or something.. but slowly by episode four it hit me when Joyce didn’t recognize her. and also when you remember how Faith was saying your sister was coming, I was like what the hell does that mean lol and then it made sense. I wish I saw all foreshadowing clues cause the ones I caught were spectacular and in a way I wish I knew them all beforehand 😭
Joyce’s death was heart wrenching. I think the episode was hinting at it the whole time because everyone was so happy. It made me suspicious that something bad was going to happen then it just it just smacks you in the last freaking 1 min 30 sec.
The ending of episode 15 and the start of episode 16 were some of the saddest I’ve watched and I was crying the whole time. Especially hearing Buffy say mom.. Mom.. mommy? 😭 acting was amazing, felt so raw. Looking back I honestly think if I was to rewatch, 5 would still be my favorite but 2 and 3 might switch positions. I really liked them both cant quite decide on which one I like more. The nostalgia in the first three seasons is unbeatable though <3
Season 4 -I don’t get the flack that this season gets. To me its overall arching story was better than season 6 and 7. I think season 4 had the strongest start to a season other than season 5, and continued to have good episodes. Where as with season 2/3 they all got so freaking good as it went on. Season 4 definitely waned as the rest of season went on and by the end I wasn’t interested. I know the finale is special to most Buffy fans, I still have to rewatch it and see if I like it after having finished the show. Wasn’t the biggest fan initially watching it but heard you watching it knowing everything is fun too.
Season 6 Musical episode was a little interesting, not sure how I feel about it but i liked that Buffy was finally able to tell her friends that they didn’t save her, I felt like that was the pinnacle. I’d been waiting for that. And also Giles is a great singer at the very least. 6x8, where they forget each other is golden though and was one of the best in the whole season for me. I love getting to see them banter 😂 it reminded me of the 3x18 where they say what’s on their mind all the time and that was also one of my faves lol.
But I have to say I hate that they made that trio of tater tots boys a constant parts of the sixth season and the main villains. Only for them to still be there in freaking season 7. I would have liked seeing a better big bad for that season or ok just have them in ONE not TWO seasons as main villains… Compared to Gloria, I feel like it was a big step down but Im biased becuase season 5 was truly amazing and I loved all the details. To me they felt like they were given too much big of roles for how little they contributed to me other than being complete incels. Jonathan I expected better from given the history he has with Buffy. Also the ending of season 6… watching Buffy and Xander be the sweetest friend to each other and Tara and Willow finally getting to the point where they are ok … and then TARA??????? 💔 that hurt because she really was such a pure soul.
It felt like a stab to the heart but only of the only times I could tolerate Xander in the show was when he brought willow back and kept telling her he loved her. 🤍
Spike assaulting and attempting to r*** Buffy…. I found that scene really triggering, im sure any women would. I think especially seeing her dressed so “modestly” was a detail added to show that no matter what you wear, a man will still choose to r*** you. It was really f***** hard to watch that given that I wanted so bad for Buffy and Spike to end up with each other. Again a great example of the acting and direction. Really well executed. It also definitely felt like character assassination at that point because Spike had done so much to try and atone for his past. Him and Dawns relationship was so cute. Niblet 😫 I just dont get it, but thats how rape happens in real life too. Its always the people you dont expect so I know that I cant argue. it was just hard to watch :/
Giles was such a great character throughout the whole series. I really saw a missing piece when he was gone during the 6/7th seasons. And speaking of the 7th, I felt like the plots of it were fine but I just found the overall episodes boring. Even with the addition of the potential slayers, good concept but didn’t play out well to me on screen. I struggled getting through this season tbh. I started to miss the vibe of season two where the was random big bads for an episode or like 2x11 is one of my favorites with John Ritter 😭 also Buffy’s boss asking her out???? So weird lol like I just ???? but Faith returning was definitely a highlight and much needed spark back to the show. Definitely ended with a bang , episodes 18 and onwards were good. Lowkey the nostalgia in a way was brought back seeing some of the older characters come back. (except Anya 💔💔💔💔 and lowkey spike but apparently there’s Angel and he’s back on it so idk)
I also don’t think Buffy had one fair and amazing love interest throughout the whole show. I think every guy was so subpar compared to what she deserved. I thought it would be Spike but I just can’t think that now given the things that went down in season 6. I’m glad she ends up alone because she is the best person for herself.
Also this is one of the cutest and sweetest fandoms on Reddit.

Good Vibes Only London (and adjacent) Buffy fans meet up?
U/dealer-lost and I (after much mutual excitement over Buffy Revamped) were discussing maybe having a little Buffy fans get together October/ November. 100% not sure what we'd do, but could be jokes - don our finest 90s garms or BtVS attire, go for a spooky themed walk, get a mulled wine.
No pressure, just why not try. I'm the worst at this stuff and being organised in general but hey ho, give it a go.
(Apols for the terribly edited photo - but that's my face, so you know I exist and I'm not using anyone as bait to catch some vamps.. Or something).
Hopefully post is allowed.
Cheers

Season Six Normal Again Inconsistency?
I’m doing a rewatch right now and there’s a scene where Spike is in the doorway of Buffy’s room and seems like he tries to take a step forward but can’t go in because of the invisible barrier.
I’m not sure if it just appeared this way because of James’ movements or if this was the intention. If this was intentional, since when do vamps need a separate invite for bedrooms? Did anyone else see this?
Villains New Buffy nails!
I found a new nail artist and she free-handed these on my nails yesterday… Ì LOVE Gnarl and Gachnar! Yay!
My other nails are plain pink with stars on and I love them!

Good Vibes Only I do beat him up a lot. For Spike that's like third base!
A lot of these are pretty graphic tbh so don't scroll while at work! I am posting for science.
Anya T-shirt advice
So I am planning to make this a tshirt, including the text.
I have three options
Bring the saturation down 30-40%
Full monochrome which will mean more work in tuning the image but in turn might look really cool. Not sure what I would do with the shadow of the sword though as it could look kinda brutal
Greyscale

Introspective What if, hypothetically, Buffy ended in Season 5 and all of the cast was available for Angel appearances? How could S4-5 of AtS be like?
and S3*
Buffy and Spike never hooked up and Spike doesn't have a soul. Would they still make him a full time cast member?
And would Buffy stay dead? Now I'm imagining if SMG was available for as many episodes as Faith was in AtS S4, could they find a way to revive her?

Buffy Is it just me, or is everyone in Sunnydale an only child until Season 5? Is this a Hellmouth thing? 👀
Has anyone else noticed that Sunnydale seems to have an inexplicable shortage of siblings? Cordelia, Willow, Xander, Oz, Buffy (for most of the show)… are we to believe the Hellmouth has some kind of one-child-per-family policy? Where are all the brothers and sisters?? 🤔

Episode Discussion Why do people usually don't like bad eggs?
I often see bad eggs mentioned as one of the worst episodes of the series and many people even suggest to skip it and I don't understand why, I personally love that episode.
It's not anywhere near a top tier episode like the body, the gift, hush, lies my parents told me, passions, becoming, helpless etc...of course but I still think it's a good episode.
The insects villains were very creepy and unsettling, the scene where Buffy has to kill one crawling in her room legitimately gave me anxiety as having a big ass venomous spider or scorpion hiding in your room is a very relatable fear.
The characters interaction were fun and there were plenty of hilarious lines scattered through the episode, the fight scene where Buffy and one of the Gorch vampires fight each other while simultaneously beating up the the possessed people attacking them like they are barely an annoyance is pretty cool, Buffy re-emerging covered in blood after killing the huge monster is one her most badass scene and the Gorches were pretty enjoyable as comedic secondary villains.
I also liked how for once we had two villains/threat running simultaneously and even getting in each other's way, it gave a touch of "realism" compared to every threath conveniently showing up after the last (a trope that will be used again in the zeppo).
For people that didn't like it can I ask why?

Love Interests If you don’t take a shot, you won’t know.
And technically she did accept. But like with most dates Buffy goes on, it doesn’t go as planned.

Comics Can we talk about Fray?
I just reread fray for the first time in years and man it’s so good!
Would made such a great ongoing series if JW had had the time.
The artwork is so colourful.
I know that fray’s story continues in the buffy series, but from what I remember it’s not as good (could be wrong tho!) .
I wanted to hear your thoughts on the comic , did you like it?

Villains If Kakistos or The Master had a soul, would it be useful to the Scoobies?
Let's assume Angel faces the two vampires and manages to restore their souls (whether through the original curse or a different spell). If they had souls, would they be useful to the Scoobies?

Spike Met Spike & Dru this weekend.
They were both super cool and really nice, very happy to chat and tell stories.
I found the print on etsy; not sure I understand it either but it was unique and had a weird 90s vibe to it so I decided to come in with something different than the standard 8x10 or funko pop.
Oh and I just blurred my name for the upload.
