The scene cuts after we get Giles looking down from the rope when Xander says “Giles, get down here and join this!” So we don’t get to see Giles in the group hug, dammit!

You really think being hugged by Andrew, Anya, Dawn and Xander is better. Also remember Buffy has super strength so the hug is enough to take your breath away
