Domestic A new box office site: thehatefuln8.com
As a daily user of the numbers, I’ve always wanted to try and do my take on a box office site. And since the-numbers has been undergoing maintenance and boxofficemojo has been flopping for half a decade now, figured now was a good time to try and build a better site.
Of course, in raw capability and data both have WAY more than I do 😅, but I just focused on some key pieces for launch.
What do you like? What don’t you like? What should I add next? What is missing that you NEED in order to come back to this each weekend.

Hey dude, great site, I like the ui. Would u consider adding dailies as well. On top of that, I think you should make the menu go on top instead of behind the options menu. Great work and hopefully this is the start of a great box office tracking website,

Thank you! Trying to make it a little less spreadsheet-vibes, without losing the data. Daily grosses i'm working on currently, yes! Aiming for that one after this weekend. And just so I understand, which menu are you talking about?

the three lines thingy at the top. you have lots of empty space up there and instead of condensing it all there, you can spread it out across the top. also, if you need any suggestions or help I do a little bit of website designing so I gotchu

No legit it's a game changer! Still taking me ages to get everything just right and bring in data regularly and format, but about 200x quicker than when I tried pre-claude.

This is all just publicly available data (after studios announce the figures), not hooked up to the official data - I assume those other sites are hooked up in some way. Probably costs them for that!

I know it’s a lot of work, but as the site grows, hopefully each movie can have its own page with box office info, legs, and budget.
