I'm trying to scam you with this photo,(Totk on ps5)

But I actually started BotW today.

I've finished the three temples, the old man with his cane is blackmailing me , to have his sail.

I have to meet him at the Cross, which connects the sanctuaries, I didn't quite understand.

But for now, the shrines seem too easy to me, we'll see what happens next. In any case, the game is cool.

๐ŸŽ™๏ธ Discussion Have you also owned BOTW for almost a decade and are only now close to finishing it?

I got BOTW right near its release, and somehow in almost 10 years, I am only now making my way to Calamity Ganon!

And to me thatโ€™s just hilarious because Iโ€™ve loved this game and TLOZ series as a whole, and yet I found myself picking it up periodically but never finishing it. I would restart every now and then if I couldnโ€™t remember any of what I was doing, and the longest gap I went without playing was about 2-3 years, but I still loved it every time which makes it even more funny that only in the last month or so that Iโ€™ve gone further than beating 1 divine beast!

So I come here with the nagging question of do any of yโ€™all find yourself in a similar boat? If so, is there any reason or did time truly get away from you?

Or do you have tons of hours in the game and canโ€™t seem to put it down?

Either way Iโ€™d love to hear any stories!!

I was looking for sanctum so I can finish an outfit set but instead of going above I went straight into it. This is my first time beating him (Iโ€™ve played this game for 7 years and just picked it up again a few months ago). Easier than I expected, but I ended up loving the shit out of Zeldaโ€™s character in the end. Iโ€™ll probably grind hyrule castle for a while. It has so many lore tidbits and good weapons.

๐ŸŽ™๏ธ Discussion At the End of the Game Spoiler

Update to my Post from Yesterday after over 220 hours in BOTW,

I've now finished the DLCs as well as the last remaining side quests, including the ones that took me into Hyrule Castle. All that's left for me now is to walk through the doors of Hyrule Castle and turn Ganon into a roast pig on a spit. ๐Ÿ˜‚

The DLCs were really well done, in my opinion. The new cutscenes, shrines, and, surprisingly, one final Divine Beast were all great additions. That last part especially felt like a classic Zelda dungeon to me, and getting a cool motorcycle as a reward at the end was just the cherry on top!

The fifth and final memory was particularly beautiful, especially because it also rewarded me with a picture that I immediately took to Link's house. โค๏ธ

I've also added a few more pictures to this post, simply because the game is beautiful. :)

I'm already looking forward to playing Age of Calamity once I've defeated Ganon and completed the Hyrule Compendium, followed by TOTK afterwards!

Mipha is my personal favourite character in BOTW. I love how kind, caring, and gentle she is, but at the same time she's incredibly brave and strong. Her story and her relationship with Link also made her one of the characters I became most emotionally attached to. โค๏ธ

I also really hope I'll get to see Kass again in TOTK! I absolutely love his music, and I really like his character design as well. There's just something so relaxing and charming about meeting him somewhere in Hyrule and hearing him play his accordion. ๐ŸŽถ I definitely wouldn't mind spending a lot more time listening to his songs!

I already know that Age of Calamity is a Warriors game, so I'm sure I'll get to spend plenty of time fighting alongside Mipha there. I'm really looking forward to seeing more of her! โค๏ธ

Now I'm curious: Whos your favourite Character in BOTW, and why? Also, do you prefer BOTW or TOTK? I'll be playing TOTK later on, so I'd love to hear your thoughts on the game as well! How many hours have you spent immersed in this amazing game? ๐ŸŽฎโค๏ธ

Anyway, have a wonderful day, everyone! :)

โ” Question Dumb question about buffs

Still fairly new to the game, Iโ€™m just able to start killing Lynels with some consistency (at least the weaker ones). I got a savage bow, itโ€™s a 40 power rating triple shot, attack +. I canโ€™t remember the amount of the attack buff but letโ€™s just say 10 for sake of argument. Itโ€™s three shots of 40 for a total of 120. Do the attack bonus point go per shot or on the total? Is it doing 130 or 150 damage? Thank you.

It is my first game that i bought back when i bought my switch lite, i have been putting it off for so long, because of the weapon durability mechanics, discouraging me from playing it.

but it turns out, the game is surprisingly very cozy and atmospheric, the tacticle feedback of squishy water sound and the satisfying sound when getting an item, is, to me, so cozy, i don't know guys, i honestly thought that the game is just too bare bone at first glance, but there are so many little details that adds to the experience, i can't imagine what rain feels like in the game, i am really looking forward to it.

I can't help but always gravitate towards this game before bed time, it truly feels the perfect game to unwind before bed, not to mention the switch lite's sleep mode features make it so easy for me to just power it off, do my thing, and come back to the game, and voila, still have almost the same battery, that one feature is mindblowing to me. Overall, it feels so comfy to play it.

โ” Question First time playing, any tips?

Hi everyone! It's my first time playing Botw, or any Zelda in general. I've just started, I've finished the mission where I discovered Kakariko Village. I was wondering if there's something I'm missing, or something I should be doing. Should I explore everywhere? Should I cook potions and stuff, do side quests before advancing with main quests...

Thanks!

๐ŸŽ™๏ธ Discussion Playing the game realistically

Hi all, first post here!

recently I've been having the urge to play this and TOTK again, and I thought I'd do it differently than just going to shrines, getting hearts and stamina, beating bosses and saying I'll do all the side quests and then getting bored.

an idea i had (which I'm sure has been done many times before) is to play the game realistically! and I'm looking for suggestions that I, and other people, can follow to (hopefully) play the game at a slower, more relaxed and ultimately realistic pace.

some ideas i already had were things like not using fast travel of course, I love just using horses anyway. I also had the idea of having to sleep at night, having to find a stable or an inn to sleep at, or a secluded safe place to set up a campfire. if I want to go through the night, I thought of making certain foods like stealth foods as a requirement, but always having to sleep at some part of the day. I think itd also be fun to have to eat at least once a day, even if I dont need to.

some ideas I was toying with were stuff like always talking to people I come across with requests, and trying to do those side quests as regularly as I could, maybe if I have over 5 or so I havent completed then I cant do the next divine beast. more on divine beasts, I'd want something in place before I move on and beat them, maybe unlocking the surrounding areas on the map and doing a certain percentage of shrines in that area to continue on.

on the face of it, I'm sure all these rules look a little boring, but I like that they're all make the game go a bit slower while still feeling like some sort of challenge. and I know I can play at my own pace whenever, I like the fun of the challenge and immersion, playing the game like its real sort of thing!

if you have any suggestions let me know! if you've done something like this before or would like to!

๐Ÿ“ข Opinion Which is the better game: Breath of the Wild or Tears of the Kingdom?

I'm curious how opinions differ between the BOTW, TOTK, and general Zelda communities. I'm posting the same poll in each subreddit to compare results.

Please vote based on which game you consider better overall, not simply which one you played first. I'd also love to hear your reasoning in the comments.

I'll share the results after voting closes.

๐ŸŽด Screenshot My Journey so far :) Spoiler

My BOTW journey so far โ€” 210 hours in, and I still can't get enough of this game!

First of all, I can't even put into words how much fun I've had playing this game so far. According to Cemu, I've spent around 210 hours in it. (I still have two weeks of vacation left, so I've already had plenty of time to play, and there's even more to come! ^^)

I've played whenever I got the chance, and I've now completed almost everything the game has to offer. I still have a few side quests left, as well as the main quest from the DLC. Once I've finished everything, I'm going straight for Ganon to turn him into a roasted pig on a spit.

I even collected all the Korok Seeds in the end, using an interactive map because there were simply too many of them. When I finally got the reward in Korok Forest, my first thought was: Alexa, play "Let Down" by Radiohead.

Now I can really understand why BOTW won Game of the Year. It's hard to describe in a short post, but this game does an incredible job of making you feel so many different emotions. Exploring the world is an experience in itself. Being able to explore Hyrule Castle, for example, was so much fun, especially since previous Zelda games generally didn't allow you to explore it to this extent. I also love how refreshing it feels to break away from the more traditional Zelda formula.

The voice acting, which was something entirely new for the Zelda series, is also incredibly well done.

Right now, I'm struggling with the main DLC quest where you have to defeat enemies while dying in just one hit. It's driving me crazy, but sooner or later, I'll get through it! Tips would be really appreciated ๐Ÿ˜„

I can't wait to play Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity after BOTW, followed by Tears of the Kingdom!

I'll add some of the many pictures I took during my journey to show off just how beautiful this game can be.

Hope you all have a great day!

๐Ÿ†˜ Help! Can't upgrade Sheikah set? Glitch?

Post image
109 Upvotes

Hi, just started to replay BotW after a massive hiatus (started from scratch as couldn't remember where I was up to). I'm trying to upgrade my stealth gear, but it's not showing any option for that? I have so much nightshade, sneaky snails, fireflies etc. Had no trouble with the few other armour sets I have, only the stealth gear.

Is there something I need to trigger first? Or is this a glitch? I live in the stealth gear and was really keen on getting the night speed up now that whistle sprinting has been negated (๐Ÿ˜ญ)

Edit: thanks everyone! I didn't have all the fairies yet. you all rock!

๐Ÿ‘โ€ Tips and Tricks Ancient Arrows Kill Lynels?

I learned this by accident. Master Mode makes killing these things tough. Thought I was flinging a bomb arrow out of desperation, but it disappeared into a little black hole. Good to know. I guess they disappear all non guardian creatures instantly. No drops though. Don't care.
