Seems like there's a consensus in the other chat these are just no good when used with Apple devices. I only own Apple devices so thinking of returning them.
What do others think?
I don't believe firmware can be updated on these and the sound is pretty rubbish on Apple devices, very sub par even for Bose.

I received my new wired Bose noise-cancelling earphones yesterday, and unfortunately, they havenāt lived up to my expectations.
The sound quality on my iPhone is good, but when I connect them to my MacBook, the audio sounds noticeably muffled. Iāve tested them with several apps, including Spotify and Apple Music, but the issue remains the same.
Another disappointment is the lack of Siri functionality. Pressing and holding the middle button doesnāt activate Siri, which is a feature I would have expected to work.
Iāve also noticed a significant difference in sound quality when switching between Normal, Aware, and Quiet modes. In Normal mode, the bass sounds noticeably weaker, and the overall audio quality seems to deteriorate compared to the other modes.
If you enjoy listening to music at high volumes, these earphones might disappoint you, as they simply donāt get very loud.
Overall, I would rate these earphones 2 out of 5 stars. āļø āļø They perform reasonably well in some situations, but the issues Iāve encountered make it difficult to fully recommend them.
I expected more from Bose, especially considering the companyās reputation for audio quality. Sadly, these earphones leave me wondering whether Bose still delivers the same quality it was once known for.
Edit: The ANC performs surprisingly well. Thereās a slight background hiss when no music is playing, but itās barely noticeable and doesnāt affect the listening experience. With music playing, voices and conversations nearby are almost completely drowned out.

Try changing the audio input settings within Audio MIDI Setup.

I know its Halloween season and all but i think my QC Ultra 2 cables are haunted year round!
Every morning I wake up and they have mysteriously made their way out of the side pocket and into the main case.
I return them securely in hopes they will remain there to continue to never be used again but somehow they make their way back out.
This happen to anyone else or is it just me?

Hey there, Im curious about this...
Ive had a mosquito buzz noise when Im using my QC Ultra Gen 1 (Over the ear) with ANC on and no music playing on, its not very loud, but sometimes when I try to just get quiet with no music and ANC on, it gets really annoying...
The curious thing is that it ONLY happens when Im on a car, it have never happened to me outside of a car, and for some reason, sometimes appears / dissapears, some days its there, some days it isnt.
Has anyone experienced this? Why does it only happen when Im on a car? And how could I fix it?
Thanks in advance! :)

I was lucky enough to be gifted a 700 + sub 300 (second hand). Trouble was it didnāt come with a remote.
I had to reset the setup because I couldnāt add them to the Bose app. So I talked with the Bose customer service, only to be read a basic walk through available online already. In the end they basically told me to buy a new remote for 70$CAD.
I just find it with that a quality company like that relies heavily on a remote.
Anyways, I bought the remote and got it in 48 hours. It took 30 seconds to pair the remote and to reset the soundbar. Thatās an expensive 30 seconds.

Hello, I recently bought a pair of Bose QuietComfort Ultra 2 headphones to help with my misophonia (severe noise sensitivity.)
I got these when I learned that they could use wired connections, as I've found using Bluetooth headphones give me headaches, and quite frankly, I prefer not to use wireless headphones/ear buds for extended periods of time. But due to my misophonia (noise sensitivity) I would be wearing these headphones more often than not. I've tried looking online for guides to see if there is a way to disable Bluetooth and wireless functions and just use the wired connections. But on top of not finding anything solid on this, I'm finding the buttons and functions needlessly complicated.
I'd hate to have to return these, so is there a way to disable Bluetooth and wireless functions on these headphones? Thank you.

I am trying to see if anyone else is having same issue.
When I try to charge the case with USB-C wired charging, or 15W/25W wireless charging pad, the case charges fine. (amber indicator light continuously pulse)
But if I use accessory charging pads on numerous brand wireless charging stations, it would recognize the wireless charging, but stops (amber indicator light pulse 3 times, then stops)
I spoke to Bose Customer support live agent and the agent told me that they don't have any documentation of pattern for amber indicator light plusing 3 times only.
And told me that based on my statement, the agent recommended using only USB-C cable or main charging pads of wireless charging stands with 15W or higher.
But if you have wireless charging stands with 15-25W pad and 5W accessory pad, wouldn't it be obvious that you want to charge the phone and accessory at same time?
I tested all of the Charging stand with Apple AirPods 3 pro and Samsung Galaxy Buds 4, so I know those accessory pads work.
Here is what I tested with:
Power= Anker Prime Charger 675W
Wireless Charging Stands:
Energizer (Main: 15W, Accessory: 5W)
Belkin (Main: 15W, Accessory: 5W)
Anker (Main: 25W, Accessory: 5W)
ModiTech (Main: 25W, Accessory: 5W)
ThreeKey (Main: 25W, Accessory: 5W)
Ku Xiu (Main: 15W, Accessory: 5W)
I have QC earbuds and it turns my ear drums into a techno nuclear bomb when I turn it on. Sometimes I daydream about modifying the software and fixing it so I can use noise cancellation in my lab whenever I want.

Has anyone recently ordered the module 700 in black recently? I ordered mine last week on the 9th they said it'd be here by the 11th. Then I receive an email saying it's back ordered.
I see the white one in stock and asked if I could just exchange it but they won't honor the sale price anymore since it's over I would have to pay the difference. Is this typical of Bose to sell stock they don't have? Has anyone who ordered around the time I did received an update?

When will the review embargo will be lifted for the new wired nc headphones does anybody know?

The first couple times I ordered the OEM pads from Bose. They now cost $55 and I am having a hard time justifying the cost.
Give it to me straight. Are the Wicked Custom really that good? Or is this a āthe cheap man always pays doubleā type scenario?

the quietcomfort 1st gen are currently discounted to Ā£185, while the 2nd gen are Ā£299. is the difference worth the extra Ā£115 or should i get the 1st gen? i donāt have over ear headphones currently so i have nothing to compare them to! also are the ultras worth it in comparison to the regular QC? they are currently on sale for Ā£349. thanks!

I have the Petal Pink 2023 QCs and wanted to see how the new Sky Pink compared to them. Here are pictures comparing them, also the gen 2s feel a bit.... Cheaper tbh. When holding them by the band there is all types of clacking from the plastic. I'm not sure, but they don't feel as sturdy as the original.
Edit: typo

Is it normal to have these holes on the inner side of the earcups padding? Just purchased my quiet comforts today and noticed this after 2 hours, the holes as seen in the pic are on both the left and right sides all along them
r/bose • u/2fast4blue • 1d ago
They started creaking on the right earcup 2 weeks ago and I thought, well this will be what everyone talks about...
The fix is maybe a bit dumb but it worked perfectly.
I simply sprayed a TINY amount of WD40 into the holes where the earvup connects to the silver pars.
You should probably cover up one of the mics before with tape. There is one right next to the attachment point.
Creaking stopped straight away amd hasn't come back since. They are even smoother than when I got them new.
I thought this was an obvious solution and people must have tried it so I was suprised that it worked so well and apparently not many people tried this...

After hours try out and read reddit for about an hour, some posts (from months ago) tell the hissing, just wanted to ask if this is something happen on every unit?
Anyone has had hissing on one unit and replaced another one without?
Or still have it on new replaced one?
Please advise, thanks!
I loved my Bose QCU Gen 1 headphones. I was on my second pair and used them daily for years and years. Last week they got stolen at an airport, so I figured 'screw it' and went to an airport shop to buy new ones. They were the Gen 2 model; fine, I figured: Newer = better.
But damn, I already miss my Gen 1's after just a couple of days. On Bose website they state they wanted to "simplify the products", meaning take away any customisation and ease of use. No longer can I simply hold the volume bar to hear the battery level; that's deemed "too complex" I guess.
There is now no longer any way to hear which device its connected to. Gen 1 use to call out the current connected device on a click of the Bluetooth button. Removing this somehow improves user experience?
And the worst part; you can no longer switch to which device it connects from the headphone. Bose states you should simply use Multipoint connection, which is a great idea if you want your audio to drop and your movie to pause any time your phone gets a notification..
But this was true in Gen 1, so I always had Multipoint disabled; it was easy enough to manually switch connected devices from the headphones by pressing that Bluetooth button twice. No more, for the sake of our convenience you're now expected to open Bluetooth settings on whatever device and manually disconnect the first device, then open Bluetooth settings on the second device and re-connect there. What used to be a 2-click, 1-second action, now takes multiple clicks on two devices and at least 30 seconds if you're quick about it.
Such wow, many improvements.. Reading that other post on here of the software dev leaving Bose because their code is such a mess didn't surprise me.
I think I'll return these and get a Gen 1 from Marketplace or something, and block it from ever getting any updates. It just makes me so sad that actual fine working mechanics are simply removed for no reason at all. Why does everything constantly have to get worse?!

Can someone with the new wired ear buds and Nintendo consoles confirm if these work on a Switch and Switch 2?
