WeeklyThread Simple Questions: October 13, 2026

Welcome readers,

Have you ever wanted to ask something but you didn't feel like it deserved its own post but it isn't covered by one of our other scheduled posts? Allow us to introduce you to our new Simple Questions thread! Twice a week, every Tuesday and Saturday, a new Simple Questions thread will be posted for you to ask anything you'd like. And please look for other questions in this thread that you could also answer! A reminder that this is not the thread to ask for book recommendations. All book recommendations should be asked in /r/suggestmeabook or our Weekly Recommendation Thread.

Thank you and enjoy!

For those of you that do, how do you read multiple books at once? When do you read X book and when do you read Y book? (Not audiobooks)

For someone like me who’s a mood reader, this is what I do: I usually have several books going on at the same time that vary a bit (maybe a couple of different fantasies, a non-fiction, a contemporary fiction, etc), and I pick up what I’m in the mood to read. That way, I always have something I look forward to reading. The books all get finished at a different rate, especially if I pick up one of the books and then get super into it and finish it. But then I pick up something else, so there’s always 3 to 5 in my rotation at any given time.
