WeeklyThread Simple Questions: June 30, 2026

Welcome readers,

Have you ever wanted to ask something but you didn't feel like it deserved its own post but it isn't covered by one of our other scheduled posts? Allow us to introduce you to our new Simple Questions thread! Twice a week, every Tuesday and Saturday, a new Simple Questions thread will be posted for you to ask anything you'd like. And please look for other questions in this thread that you could also answer! A reminder that this is not the thread to ask for book recommendations. All book recommendations should be asked in /r/suggestmeabook or our Weekly Recommendation Thread.

Thank you and enjoy!

Good morning, I would like to buy Valeria Luiselli's new book, Beginning, middle, end.

In my country there are two paperback editions and two hardback editions available (US and UK editions). The paperback editions are priced the same (€ 22,99), while the US hardback edition is € 39,95 (9798217208319, $ 35 in the US AFAIK), and the UK hardback edition is € 27,95 (9780008804800, £ 18,99 in the UK).

I love beautiful editions and I would like to ask if the US edition is worth the premium? Or are the books roughly the same?

Thank you very much in advance!
