Who’s ready for more space politics and complicated character names? Oh me, me!
All too soon we’re going to be reading Arkady Martine’s second book in the Teixcalaan series, A Desolation Called Peace. In case you haven’t finished the first one, you can check it out here. Our Marginalia is here.
We’ll be starting this book first thing in February, see our discussion dates below:
- February 2: Start through Ch 4 (u/maolette)
- February 9: Interlude through Ch 8 (u/Lachesis_Decima77)
- February 16: Ch 9 through Ch 11 (u/nepbug)
- February 23: Ch 12 through Ch 15 (u/YewBetcha)
- March 2: Interlude through end (u/fixtheblue)

I had a hold and it was weeks away and then it just randomly appeared! I think a lot of January reads coming in are throwing off people's reading plans. 😂

I still need to catch up on the first book so I can finally take my Kindle off airplane mode and read this one… lol

I was shocked how good the first book was, I guess I wasn't expecting greatness? Then I learned both have won the Hugo... because of course they have!
