Murderbot series [Schedule] Bonus Book- Fugitive Telemetry by Martha Wells (+ Short Stories)
Hello to all humans, bots, and other constructs!
We're returning to The Murderbot Diaries with the sixth in the series, Fugitive Telemetry, as well as some short stories that we didn't slot in before Network Effect. Chronologically, this book takes place between Exit Strategy and Network Effect, but was released after Network Effect. Links to the short stories will be included below, but they can be found at online sellers or some e-libraries as well. u/thebowedbookshelf and I will be running this in the month of August across two check-ins.
- August 10- Discussion with u/thebowedbookshelf
- Compulsory (behind a Wired paywall) takes place prior to All Systems Red
- Home: Habitat, Range, Niche, Territory takes place chronologically between Exit Strategy and Fugitive Telemetry
- Chapters 1-4
- August 17- Chapter 5 to the End with u/spreebiz
If you're participating in 2025 Book Bingo, Fugitive Telemetry will count for the following squares: Published in the 2020s, Bonus Book, Science Fiction, Prize Winner, and Female Author. We started this series back in October 2023, and read the last novel, Network Effect, in April 2025. If you need a refresher for the previous discussions, you can find them linked here:

Just when I thought I was probably going to be able to juggle the four books I've decided to join this summer... Here comes Murderbot, which takes precedence over everything, of course!
I will try to find the short stories, but if not, I will participate to Telemetry, since I already own a physical copy.
Yay! Now excuse me, I have some reading to do!

Are we also doing the short story “Rapport: Friendship, Solidarity, Communion, Empathy”? I think it takes place chronologically after Artificial Condition, but it was just published July 10, 2025!

Looks like it's showing starting on August 6th instead of the 10th for me. The description is correct.

Yes! I'm so excited! I just finished watching the show, so I'm in the mood for more Murderbot stories!
