Stolen this evening 10/15 from Longmont Alley (near Pennsylvania St & Broadway, south of Garfield Elementary).

It has a front shotgun style child seat (Mac Ride) as well as rear and front rack. The tag-along bike on the back in this photo was not attached when it was stolen.

A police report has been made, number T26000941. We have the serial number and added it to the Boise Bike Index.

If you see this bike or know who took this bike please report it to the police.

Found a Garmin device at the bottom on Freestone. Anyone lose theirs?

I've done a little research and heard from different people providing conflicting reports. The last I heard was Saturday morning from a guy in Hidden Springs who said that it is not closed because the person who tried to close it doesn't have the authority. Mmmkay.
I also learned there is Broken Horn Trail and Broken Horn Road and several closed and open signs. I have not actually ridden up Broken Horn Road to the gate because I've heard stories about loose animals (dogs?) and other drama and I can't tell what's around the corner. I don't feel like trying to out sprint a dog on my gravel bike. This would be a great connection to avoid Hwy 55. Anyone have the real status?

Hello! There’s going to be a Society of Women Engineers WE Local Conference in Boise February 26-27. I want to find someone to help present with me! Are you a woman/fem/ABCD with a STEM background and somewhat ok mechanic? Like you can fix a flat and know the names of the parts of a bike. I want to run a demo as a talk at the conference and want a co-presenter!

Right now I am just submitting an application, so no guarantees yet. Let me know if you want to join me! All I would need from you now is a short bio in the application portal. I’m hoping to submit by Tuesday!

I'm putting together a road route from my house to Sandy Point. It should be about 50-miles out and back.

I'm trying to avoid riding on the Greenbelt, but I'm not super familiar with road riding in that area of town.

My current route has me going from Latah to Americana then hopping on the Greenbelt and taking it all the way to Sandy Point. Looking at the map it looks like a decent route would be to just run further down Americana and make my way to East Warm Springs and just take that all the way.

Any other suggested routes?

Lost bike tools possibly on horseshoe bend road, hill road parkway, seamons gultch road, or floating feather. Small roll of bike tools fell off my bike on my ride this morning. Please pm me or message below if you found them.

The best alleycat race (IMO) in the valley.

July 11th. 6:30pm Ann Morrison Fountain - Free.

This is one of several places on the quarry side of Table Rock where trail meets road. This popped up a day ago.

It is near the bottom of a hill I often zoom down on a trail that’s existed for at least six years with no sign of any construction in this area. The trail does go behind some newer houses (well outside their fences).

Happy to respect private property and areas set aside for environmental recovery but this is a bit shitty. I could see the posts but not the cable until I was pretty close. I tore it down.

I'll be in Boise most of the year and will be bringing two bikes. A mountain bike and either my road bike OR gravel bike.

I love both and am open to either. Are there good road routes with light traffic that start/end in town? Are drivers courteous to road cyclists? If either of these are a 'no' then I'll probably opt for the gravel bike.

Thanks!

Hi, does anyone have an Elite Direct Drive trainer set up for thru axle, and have the spare parts for qr? These are not available in the US, yet they came with every trainer. TIA

Former mountain biker going on endurance road bikes and commuting. What are everyone's favorite tires for riding on the chip sealed roads in town? My bike has Michelin dynamic sports in a 700 23c and I just know it's a matter of time until I have a catastrophic blow out. Budget friendly is always cool. Road bikes are insane in the slight differences and variety of tires.

Hope everyone is out enjoying the sun!

I'm moving to Boise next month from SLC, and I have some questions I'm hoping ya'll can help me with.

SLC has 3-4+ clubs where a good majority of riders are mid-20s to mid-30s, but all the pictures of Boise clubs look like the age skews towards retirees. Which clubs would be the best if I'm looking to make friends around 30 years old?

Do any clubs hold group zwift rides before work? Current club in SLC has a bunch of guys that ride at 5:30am.

What fast group rides are there over the spring/summer?

My husband and I (we are in our 30s) are in a season of finding new paths in life, and one of the big ones has been getting into mountain biking. We’re still fairly new to it, but really enjoying it so far.

We’d love to meet some new friends, ideally other couples or folks in a similar stage of life. Right now, that means no kids for us, so we’ve got more flexibility and free time to ride, hang out, and build friendships with people who can relate to that.

We’re not looking for anything super formal, just people to ride with, hang out with, and hopefully build some lasting friendships. If that sounds like you, feel free to drop a comment or DM!

Been using lime scooters to expensive spent 80 dollars in 4 days with it...new to boise just need a reliable bike...any old bikes not being used? Price: Free?

I was talking to someone the other day and we realized - not a lot of people have ridden in more than 2 or 3 cities in the area.

Is this true?

How many area cities have you ridden a bicycle in?

Hi all! I am visiting Boise next weekend with my mom for the first time. We plan to spend Friday exploring via bike on the Boise River Greenbelt Trail. I think we will start at the botanic garden/penitentiary and turn around in Garden City (after perhaps stopping for a glass of wine at Telaya Wine Co). I am looking for recommendations on other fun spots we could pop off the trail, park our bikes, and explore + get lunch. We are both extremely active, love coffee and shopping (consignment/thrift especially), and gravitate towards healthy/vegetarian meals but still eat meat.

Also looking for a bike shop near downtown/North End where we can rent bikes for the day. If you are so inclined, would also love recs for coffee shops, restaurants, shops, hikes, day trips, etc.

Thank you in advance!

I am curious if anyone knows of a local place that buys gently used bikes? I recently bought a Canyon Endurace and have cared for it religiously, but I am just too small for the bike and while it breaks my heart to do so, it needs to go to a rider that it actually fits.

It’s in excellent condition and I can always try FB Marketplace, but thought I would at least ask first!
