This Yellow-Crowned Night Heron landed in a tree almost directly above me as I was walking the trail on Creekfield Lake, Brazos Bend State Park in southeast Texas. All photos are full frame (35mm) with no crop. They show a progression of my backing away to get more of the bird in my frame using a 600mm lens.
