Appreciation Just started playing this game

And wow what a cosy game this is. The world feels alive and every character has soo much charisma and personality.

The simple gameplay is alright because allows me to just relax and admire the world.

Levels are full of interactivity.

Soundtrack is also very good.

Why am I so late to the party!

Also the second game is coming out soon?

I think it's for the best not to have any hope. Like the first teaser was in 2007. Byt i definitely won't start hoping before they have some concrete progress, and not just a little.

Glad to hear you're enjoying yourself so far! Don't let the final boss sour your experience though 😅

The last boss is ass and fighting it without getting hit for a trophy was even more ASS

It took me forever to beat it when I was younger tbh but I don't have any issue with the boss anymore since I've beaten the game so many times now

I thought I was the only one thinking the final boss was dissapointing. The main irritation for me was not being able to return to earth and finish the foto album and all side quests.

So glad you find it! My mom brought it home randomly when I was about 9-10 and I fell in love. Still very special to me

Yeah, Beyond Good and Evil was the definition of "underrated" when it first came out. Unfortunately just bad timing when other games took the spotlight. It weaves together a really cool story about espionage and exposing an evil conspiracy where propaganda is a front for an invasion by an alien race. It also has a basic but good combat system but I especially loved the photography aspect, reminded me so much of Pokemon Snap.

The music is also really good, combining all sorts of themes from atmospheric to Jamaican-style. And yes, I agree that the interactivity is also very good.

So in regards to the sequel, I assume you're playing the remastered version that came out on Steam and more recent consoles? Yeah that one includes terminals and CD's of concepts and extra story information that are supposedly going to be in the sequel.

BUT here's the unfortunate kicker: The sequel to BG&E2 has been in development hell for 20 years. It's been through a bunch of redesigns as well. Last time it was shown off was in E3 2017. Unfortunately Michel Ancel the Director left Ubisoft (although he was under investigation for a lot of abusive behaviour), there's also been a lot of changes in staff too.

So as far as when or if the sequel is coming, no one knows. You'll see a news article come out once a year with Ubisoft still saying the game is coming but nothing new. Until then, you're stuck with the first game. And it's a shame too because I've been so excited for the sequel, especially when they finally revealed how it was going to look. It's way more massive in exploration and content compared to the first game.

I've at this point however tempered any hype I feel until I actually see a confirmed release date and announcement.

I highly doubt the second game will release, and of it does, it's most likely gonna be online only live service "Ubislop" and nothing like the original.. Just my guess from the trailers that have been shown, I never finished the first one but it's always reminded me of the earlier 3d Legend of Zelda games..(Was gonna play it recently but I made the mistake of buying on gog and the gog version is crap with no controller support, so I gotta get it on steam or emulate it..)

The last line makes this seem like trolling.
