New Releases Holy f**cking sh*t a must watch !!!

Post image

Just finished season 2 of the gentleman and normally when I love a first season of a show I always expect the second season to fall a little short but I’m really happy to say that this season exceeded my expectations exponentially in every way holy shit I didn’t expect to have such high emotions by the end whats everyone else’s thoughts on who’s watched ?? And if you haven’t giving this show a watch yet then get your popcorn ready and have a blast like I did !

The first season became so cheesey, uninspired and episodic that I have a hard time to find any motivation to start season 2. It also felt irritatingly small and unbelievable. Each of those supposedly big gangster syndicates running the town had 1 Boss who did all the work and at best there were a handful of interchangeable henchmen in the background. This just didn´t work for me.

Don’t worry. Season 2 sucks. I could sit here and explain why I think that, but I don’t want to.

It’s sooooooooo good. Seriously.

I second that. It’s absolutely insane.

Some shows & movies are really good.
Some shows & movies are entertaining.

Most are one or the other, a rare few are both.

If you like a Guy Ritchie style British gangster show you will find this falls into the both category. But it is more entertaining than it is good.

Such a good show

Finished E3, great show. So entertaining, quality acting, clever script, and lots of pleasantries via costumes/accessories.

Chopped his own brother!!

It's nice to see a show that can hold my attention from start to finish. Funny, brutal, beautifully shot, magnificently plotted...

It's primogenital stuff.

Just flew from Aus to USA and binged the whole thing. It’s very easy watching. I also love the subtle Godfather 1&2 influence.

Watching it ATM.. was buzzing when I saw it was coming, Plus Mobland Season 2 coming very soon and Crystal Lake. 👌🏻💯

I never watched season 1 when it came out. Then when seasons 2 came out I decided to start watching season 1 this week. I finished both seasons this week it was really good did not expect that I would like it so much. Very entertaining.

Started it, and after two episodes I stopped, didn’t hook me at all

2

u/SUNSHlNEdaydream Sep 07 '26

Same I was really looking forward to a goooood bingey watch. Just couldn’t get into it after 2 episodes. And I love me some British tv shows.

1

u/AaronMcK92 Sep 06 '26

Not everyone will get hooked but I couldn’t help but get hooked after episode 1

5

u/GlynVT Sep 06 '26

What I didn’t like about season 1 is that he spent the entire season trying to get rid of this drug thing and then the last episode I think all of a sudden he’s decided he wants to run it. It just felt like a stretch and that it wasn’t fleshed out properly.

3

u/AaronMcK92 Sep 06 '26

He ran the weed business for the whole season I think you’d need to go back and watch it

1

u/GlynVT Sep 07 '26

Oh….huh I remember him not wanting do something then and the last episode completely changing his mind….does that sound familiar?

1

u/AaronMcK92 Sep 07 '26

I have to rewatch it myself to be honest to understand what you mean but the second season he’s really wanting to expand his business so if that is the case it would be jarring to see on a rewatch of season 1. But i what I do remember being disappointed about in the finale of the first season was them setting up this massive war at the end they were going to have with the scouser coke dealers but then everything is resolved right before the fight is about to happen I remember being really let down by that but the second season really ramps things up in the last 2 episodes which I really didn’t expect and appreciated so overall season 2 ends on a much higher note.

u/R_Similacrumb Sep 10 '26

He was born for it.

6

u/Most-Artichoke6184 Sep 07 '26

I just finished episode six of season two. I saw that ending coming 9,000,000 miles away.

1

u/AaronMcK92 Sep 07 '26

Yes you are totally correct I did to but it’s what happens afterwards in which is the most compelling you’ll see and I think they purposely made it obvious what was going to happen with the way they shot it and because the camera kept lingering when it had no reason to unless something was going to happen but still believe me I think the last 2 episodes make up for it.

1

u/R_Similacrumb Sep 10 '26

I don't think it was ever meant to be a suprise. The theme of the show was established pretty clearly in S1E1.

Had Bruce Willis showed up as archictect of a grand scheme and turned out to be a ghost... that would have been surprising.

I'm rewatching season 1 and I remember why I loved it. It has a certain cinematic quality to it. The characters are flawed but likeable and the storyline has a mix of humour to it with great dialog. Maybe I'm biased being from Canada but witty British talk wins me over everytime. And this has a whole cast of weird characters with differenct accents and dialects.

1

u/AaronMcK92 Sep 06 '26

That for me is one of the best parts about it it’s written so well and the dialogue just elevates it to new heights but I will say one thing I found a little jarring was the amount of different characters that give Eddie a biblical speech it didn’t bother me to start with but after at least 4 speech’s before hand by the time bible John gave yet another towards the end I said to myself okay I’m sure even Eddie is sick of hearing them now 🤣

2

u/rewopzil Sep 07 '26

Love it.

2

u/Full-Fly7247 Sep 08 '26

Added to my list. Thanks!

u/themanknownassting Sep 09 '26

I had to start the first season over. I couldn't remember much of the first one since the 2nd took so long to come out.

u/Previous-Pudding-186 Sep 09 '26

Yay for Vinnie Jones … not a guy Ritchie movie without him ❤️

1

u/Staykushed Sep 09 '26

The ending made no sense,

1

u/WeekPractical2166 Sep 09 '26

this show is slowly going more off the rails with the sharp dialogue and complex plots holding it together like masking tape.

5

u/fil42skidoo Sep 09 '26

Sharp dialogue and complex plots holding together is Guy Ritchie's love language.

1

u/AaronMcK92 28d ago

The ending made perfect sense watch a breakdown video or something to help fill in the gaps

1

u/Nfyyyy Sep 09 '26

thank you for your positive input, someone said it wasn’t good with a lot of theatrics and i found it quite appalling especially with how charismatic the plot was. you couldn’t even tell or guess what was going to happen next.

u/SouthernHead9789 Sep 10 '26

It's not on in my country which country are you in

1

u/michelob81 Sep 10 '26

u/Tom2dB 25d ago

Mobland first ep season 2 was badass

2

u/AaronMcK92 25d ago

It was it’s just ashame it wasn’t a 2 episode premiere though a whole 9 weeks to get through the season !

1

u/Tom2dB 24d ago

I know it's a wounder, But I'm watching Lioness, The Gentlemen(Nothing on Mobland though) Lizzie Borden, I got a few going so it's not too bad but I do agree with you.

1

u/ahora-mismo Sep 06 '26

this and mobland are one of the best shows of the last decade.

4

u/AaronMcK92 Sep 06 '26

Agreed I also love mobland and I’m really looking forward to that coming back next week too 👌

u/Relative_Rooster_848 Sep 09 '26

u/ahora-mismo Sep 09 '26

can you use words or this is all that you are capable of? are you tired, was this high effort for you?

-2

u/Jeefcbus Sep 10 '26

S2 weak, lazy writing, huge plot holes

3

u/bobgabb95 Sep 10 '26

The movie is a masterpiece no doubts about it but not being able to fathom how people can like the series is crazy there’s plenty to like about it and if it’s not for you fair enough but not being able to fathom it is a little ridiculous.

Had no idea this dropped thanks for posting I loved s1

2

u/AaronMcK92 Sep 06 '26

If you loved the first season then you’ll love the second aswell it’s so well written and it all comes together very nicely by the end but still leaves enough for you to want to see another season that ls all I’ll say 👌

1

u/InevitableOk5017 Sep 06 '26

On episode 3 and it’s awesome!! Not sure why I got downvoted but it’s Reddit so who knows. Probably some basement dweller who didn’t like a comment I made 5 years ago and still follows me around downvoting my comments.

2

u/AaronMcK92 Sep 07 '26

Most likely the case 🤣 If you read the comments on this post you’ll see one guy who said he can’t fathom why anyone would like this show must be rage baiting 🤦‍♂️

0

u/Relative_Rooster_848 Sep 09 '26

Felt a bit rushed, but I liked it.

0

u/MrBachelorSays Sep 10 '26

How was the season one? I added to the list but still haven’t watched

3

u/Wembly__ Sep 10 '26

It was awesome!

0

u/MrBachelorSays Sep 10 '26

Thanks! Will watch this weekend

-6

u/Gracie1721 Sep 07 '26

One night we were considering having a watch but we remembered talk about MeMe doing some acting on that show, sit’s just TOXIC for us now! Toxic begets TOXIC!

2

u/Ok_Persimmon7758 Sep 07 '26

Having this kind of reaction is so strange, bc it was a spurious rumour that was refuted at length by the cast.
