The front sight was canted off to the side since I bought it new, I just assumed that was the factory alignment? I really don’t know how pistol irons work. I always hated it, fiber never really shown bright IMO.
I went to the range and somewhere in the first few shots the fiber must’ve blown out as I noticed my site picture was just showing the color of the target now through a hole (That actually made target acquisition really easy) like AR irons.
Somewhere around 190 rounds in the actual site post flew off. I assumed it was staked in (the little detent on it?). luckily, I picked up some Tag Precision fiber optics recently with the intention of changing them. But then I learned I need to get a site pusher to remove and install new ones? And then I have to sight them in? how much of a task is that? Is it just better to take to a smith for a one-off change like this?
Oh yeah, the gun only has 2200 rounds through it and sure enough this was the first time I shot Winchester white box and first failure to feed. I wonder if an overpowered load is what blew my site apart?
