Discussion Does your Bengal still like a game from when they were a kitten?

This “Chase The Broom” is still a daily favourite.
Us humans have since found out the cost, in having to buy new brooms and not being able to sweep up mess without cat assistance.
They adore this game and come running as soon as they hear the floor being swept ☺️

Chione was just spayed so she’s been confined to my room for the next weekish. Keeping her calm & safe has been a chore & it doesn’t help that she can hear her 2 bengal brothers playing in the rest of the house, but she sure is cute.

Discussion Owner experience with cats with heart murmurs? Milo has mitral valve dysplasia.

Milo has a grade 2. Mitral valve dysplasia. He currently has health insurance but they’re kind of scummy and have taken away all services and have no method of contact other than email now. Other insurances won’t cover his murmur as it is an existing condition. Are there complications down the line for the little gremlin that might be incredibly expensive that mean I should stay with the crappy company just to be covered?

Idk if he got heart disease or some issue with his kidneys or blood clots if that would count as an existing issue since it might be related to the murmur.

What are other people’s experiences with low grade heart murmurs or mitral valve dysplasia.

Included is his little shaved armpits from his echo. He had extra gabapentin this time and was still horrendously wiggly that they had difficulty getting him done. I did not enjoy the experience of the little man on gabapentin. He was so different to his normal self. He doesn’t need any scans for the next 3-5 years unless his regular vet notices a change.

Apologies mods if this is not OK. I don’t want any medical advice. He’s going to the vet regularly. I just want to know what I might be able to expect from a heart murmur from other people who have experienced heart murmurs.
So I can make a decision on whether to change his health insurance company or not. Google hasn’t been particularly helpful.

Bengal with other pets Puppy or kitten companion for my senior girly? Looking for experiences!

My Bengal just turned 15 this month! My husband has been wanting to add to our family for a couple years now and has been stuck between and pug or a Maine coon (I know very different options).

Context:

She grew up with her sister, who lived with us until about six years ago (she now lives with my sister), so she’s familiar with living with other cats and stays with her during holidays. We also fostered a litter of three kittens about a year ago, and she did pretty well with them when they were little, although she definitely appreciated having her own space.

She’s also had positive experiences with small dogs in the past, but it’s been quite a few years since then.

My biggest concern is that she’s not particularly dominant or assertive with other cats. She likes her routine, enjoys companionship, but also really values having her own space. I’m worried that introducing another cat, even as a kitten, could eventually cause stress as the kitten grows up and potentially becomes more territorial.

Part of me thinks a pug might actually be the better option. She would still have her cat-only spaces, like her cat tree and her own room, where she could get away from the dog whenever she wanted. I also wouldn’t have to worry as much about another cat getting into her food or competing for litter boxes.

On the other hand, I know she’s familiar with cats, and I wonder whether raising a kitten alongside her would make the transition easier and allow them to develop a bond over time.

We would be looking at either a puppy or a kitten, and we’d obviously take introductions very slowly.

I’m really torn because I’ve had this girl for all 15 years of her life, and her happiness and comfort are my biggest priorities. I don’t want to disrupt her senior years just because we want another pet.

Has anyone introduced a small dog or a Maine Coon kitten to an older Bengal? I’d love to hear from people with senior Bengals. Did your Bengal adjust well? Did you notice changes in their behavior or stress levels as the new pet grew up? Please share positive and negative experiences!

Bengal with other pets Is a Siamese a good pairing?

We might have an opportunity to adopt a Siamese kitten… abandoned mom now in a foster situation. We have had our almost 2yo perfect angel gremlin bengal since she was about 4mo. While she totally matches my son’s energy (haha) we can’t help but feel like we’re maybe ready to have two cats… is a Siamese a good energy match?? Our girl is SUPER social, has no issues with other people and pets, has never shown even an ounce of aggression to anything other than bugs and the squirrel that hangs out in our backyard. She’s harness trained as well so we’d like to keep that up with any potential sibling…

So the question is: is Siamese a good breed mix with a bengal, generally? And would a male or female make a better pairing? Anything else to consider?

My sweet, handsome boy Wyck is settling in so nicely! In fact, he now runs the house and we are his subjects. Some of you were worried about me having a Bengal as my first cat— but it has been WONDERFUL! He’s such a fun little guy!

Kitten Bengal kitten biting

I have a 3 months and a half old bengal girl kitten and want to know if anyone has any tips on how to teach her not to bite and eat everything she sees. Shes very curious with her mouth so she likes to bite everything as all kittens do when they’re teething so I’m careful with the kind of toys I give her. I give her a lot of toys that she can bite on her and help her with teething and okay with her a lot but she seems to love biting my hands and feet. When she playfully tries to bite my hand or feet, I’ll try distracting her with another toy and keeping my hands still or sometimes I’ll say no but with a low voice. She’s not food motivated but she likes to eats everything and even bit a little of my wall when I wasn’t looking. I do play with her a lot and my family will also play with her. Is this something that she’ll hopefully grow out of? I know bengals do use their mouths a lot but I need to know how to be able to control it a bit so it doesn’t become worse when she gets older. Please let me know if anyone has any tips.

Help Won’t stop eating my Monstera, please help

Post image

I have a boy called Stevie, just about 1 year old and he won’t stop biting my monstera in the lounge. Any ideas how to stop him doing this or at least get him under control a bit more?

The only thing that works atm is waving one of his toys (stick with feather) to district him but he always plays and then goes straight back to it.

He knows he shouldn’t be up there because whenever I stand up to get him he knows he has to run away.

Emotional Bengal mum here (yes mum, yes these are my actual daughters) but I just wanted to share a photo of my two girls Boo and George in their recovery suits after being spay.
We’re five days into recovery now, it’s cuddles and lap sits continuously, which we’re making the most of as these door jumping, wall climbing, chirp chirping chatterboxes normally grace us with the odd allowance of a stroke and lap sit randomly.
I cried leaving them. I cried on the call that they were okay. I cried collecting them and I’ve cried too many times cuddling them and watching them heal.
Thank you for reading.
