❓ Ask Belgium A sponge cake
It's been years of me looking for a soft
sponge textured cake but all supermarkets around Brussels sell fennel cakes including au flan. Can someone recommend where I can get these, till now I only got one in a carrerfor in tervuren but it was diabetes 2 level of sweet and kind of stale

Pretty easy to make yourself. Lots of recipes if you do an image search.

In poetry we say - cooking and baking is what it all take , I do have a problem, I can't bake :)

Julies but the bakery is in Gent. I also tried the Japanese Sponge Cheesecake from Marijn Coertjens (also in Gent).

Don't go to supermarkets, go ask at bakeries. A lot of moroccan bakeries around where I live (Brussels area) have sponge cake.
