Discussion Project Phoenix Phoenix Project--what next?

Post image

Now that we've started getting second and third variants of various chassis, Catalyst has started lifting some of the design motifs from the Project Phoenix versions of the various unseen mechs and applying those details to their reimagined New Classics designs. We saw this with the alternative "sunroof" cockpit option for the Davion battle lance Thunderbolt and the top wing details for the Rifleman C 2 in the Scouring Sands box.

Which mech do we think will/want to be the next unseen to get some Project Phoenix details reborn? The Capellan Aces box has been announced as containing a Griffin 5L and I think there's a decent chance we see some of the language from the rest of the GRF-5x series carry over into it, but I'm curious if anyone has other stuff they'd like to see

I would love to see the shadowhawk Phoenix project design

I need the Cobra Commander shadowhawk

Im hoping for a battlemaster 4s, it was the cover of total warfare and the logo of the game for a bit.

The heavy gauss crusader is project phoenix too so I'd like to see it.

Both could and should include optional heads like the thunderbolt does

The Phoenix Battlemaster was one of the better redesigns IMO. I'd love to see it.

My favorite crusader is the MRM variant (5K?). I love the look of the big missile gauntlets turned to to 11 (or 30?).

I hope they do the Shadow Hawk IIC 7, where it looks like better version of the CGL 2H, but for space

I don't love that reseen Griffin to be honest... at least not the IWN version of it. If it's closer to the illustration though it might be okay.

The assumption with pretty much all of these should be that the design is going to crib some design motifs from PP stuff but not be a 1:1 recreation. The SC Rifleman is pretty clearly heavily inspired by elements of the RFN-7X but it also still uses a lot of the modern new classics Rifleman elements

... So are we finally getting the fabled Pheonix Cat?

I’d love to see the Project: Phoenix Marauders as it’s practically the only visual design of the Marauder that I like

That's heresy and you know it. :)

I strongly agree with him, I hate the regular marauder look

The Spider has also adopted some Reseen aesthetics.

I'd like to see the vastly different reseen Warhammer start to influence ilclan variants.

The reseen Stinger and Wasp can be abandoned.

The Phoenix Hawk and Shadow Hawk are the two that have features I'd really like to see, specifically the heads. Definitely wouldn't mind seeing a plastic Griffin that takes some cues from the Project Phoenix one, either.
