With anyone who got pre-order having to wait until tomorrow to rip Update, and the heady days of Allen & Ginter all but a distant memory, I do have a little question for those of you who deal with the US regularly by mail: any delays recently?

I have a large swath of mail - mostly early-September - that has been delayed beyond the usual 2-4 week timeline I'm used to. I'm up to 6 weeks in some cases.

It's still rolling in, though. I got one yesterday from August 27 and one today from September 2. Just feels... grindy.

This is so stupid to write but here we are. If you frequent the main sub and haven't noticed, over the last few months and increasingly this week, the comment section of posts have been riddled with AI bots. Some are super obvious, many aren't and purposefully make spelling, punctuation errors, etc.

I've spent way too many hours down this rabbit hole; if you see a default username (something like "Random_Word1234") reddit account commenting, there's like a 95% chance it's not a real person. When you look through comments and the amount of these there are, you'll come to find a LOT of interactions on the subreddit are not real. They identify (or try to) things in pictures (like player names, parallels) and text and come up with a comment. At the surface, they don't really cause an issue; they aren't scamming people, there's a whole host of other issues and implications we could go into about why they are doing this, what they are eventually used for, etc, but that's another conversation.

A moderator is not able to stop this and shouldn't be expected to, it's a reddit and internet wide issue, however actively stopping and suppressing the community from being made aware that they are essentially training AI while being influenced by a bot network is something that doesn't sit right with me, and screams complicity in my opinion. I made a post (screenshot below) to make people aware that many interactions might not be genuine, it was well received, however 24 hours later it was removed, as well further comments made in other posts where I point out the bots removed. I received a message from the moderator that I was criticizing and inviting the criticism of the sub and its moderation, continuing will result in a ban, and I can go to another subreddit if I have an issue.

Since there's lots of crossover between here and the other sub, I figured I would at least let you all know my original point here. I don't expect anyone to do anything at all, the dead internet theory isn't new, it's just alarming how many bots are there.

Following the announcement of surtaxes and tariffs on sport cards starting September 8th, a few people here have already ordered from Topps before and/or after the announcement and I'm wondering if someone has experienced the whole process from order to delivery.

I'm curious about the surcharges and tariffs from the carrier, in this case FedEx which is Topps carrier. If anyone can say how much they paid vs the upcharge, that would be amazing!

Going through an old box of cards and found a nice Fleer Larry Walker RC! Not worth a fortune - but for $4 by e-transfer, of which about $2 goes to stamp and mailing supplies, how can you go wrong with the Canadian HOFer, rocking Les Bleus Blanc et Rouges?
