Feature Hi Reddit, I'm Jonah Keri. AMA.

Howdy hey!

My name is Jonah Keri, I'm a baseball writer for Grantland and author of the book, "Up, Up, & Away", a really fun (and occasionally autobiographical) look at the history of the Montreal Expos, told via ~130 interviews with ex-players (Pedro Martinez! Andre Dawson! Tim Raines! Rusty Staub!), managers, owners, and many more.

The book comes out today and is available at bookstores near you, online (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0307361357/ref=as_li_ss_tl?ie=UTF8&camp=1789&creative=390957&creativeASIN=0307361357&linkCode=as2&tag=jonahkericom-20), as an e-book (https://itunes.apple.com/us/book/up-up-and-away/id707326028?mt=11), and in various other places.

Though baseball is my vocation, I'm also a native Montrealer with strong opinions about everything from bagels to standing desks. So go nuts. I'm excited to chat.

O.K., bagels then. Fairmount or St-Viateur.

Like 'em both! Just as long as the world knows that a hot Montreal bagel out of the oven slaughters whatever it is people think they're doing in NYC.

Fighting words.

Seriously, I don't see how this could even be a comparison. There is one area for bagels and that is the NY Metro Area.

I mean Montreal has great food. In fact they have very good Jewish based foods (deli, bagels). I'm sure NYC has some great Poutine somewhere, but I'm not going to say it has better than Montreal.

PS: Go Yankees!

I think I am the only person in America who thinks that Philly has the best bagels.

Probably.

You can have cheesesteaks, and federal doughnuts. I think New York would have to fight you on pretzels, but you would probably win.

Philly has GREAT bagels, my hometown right there. The Philly through NYC run into central Jersey tends to have good bagels.

Thank you, my dad's half of the family is from there so I spent a lot of time in the area growing up.

I'm a Montrealer who recently went to New York, and I'm sorry to say it, but your bagels suck. Come by one day and give a real bagel a try, I promise that you wont be disappointed.
