[Highlight] Mookie Betts strikes out and the Milwaukee Brewers take a 3-0 series lead over the Los Angeles Dodgers

People were skeptical about the brewers beating the dodgers this time around because the dodgers are the dodgers but this is like Rocky 3, Brewers have been waiting and clamoring all year to play this team when it mattered. Up 3-0. A sight to see.

I’m not gonna lie I was very nervous going into the series, even though I knew we were a different team. Even after game 1 I was still nervous, but knocking Yamamoto out in 2.2 innings and seeing the Dodgers only earn runs off errors got me way more confident that this team could do it. Still one more win needed but I feel fantastic right now

It’s absolutely deserved. The redemption story goes hard, the fan atmosphere isn’t full of petit bourgeois accountants too cool to cheer, and small ball that I wish we used for more than half an inning at a time. I’m still pulling for my guys. But if someone’s losing sleep during the last week of October I hope it’s you guys.

I've been skeptical about beating y'all all year and am not at all surprised to find LA in this position. Not because I don't think we're good, but because Brewers are legit

The only thing left will be the whole "Rest vs. Rust" BS to clutter the media landscape.
"Will the Brewers be worse off for sweeping the Dodgers?!!"
In short order, 41 ESPN articles and 900 hours of media will be devoted to this stupid topic.

The Brewers are the best team in baseball and it's not fucking close. And it's not because they play small ball or are scrappy. They're simply better.

Clearly true. Unarguably the best team in the NL. Only reason to think the dodgers were better was name recognition and recency bias.

Name recognition definitely carried them in Vegas but they won 100 games. They weren’t exactly overrated garbage either

u/dohdudeh San Francisco Giants 23m ago
Not being the number one best team and being overrated garbage are not the only two options. Brewers had a better record and have been clearly the better the team all post season

u/CartographerFar681 3h ago
*or the fact that the Dodgers are the back to back defending champs maybe? lol

u/dohdudeh San Francisco Giants 2h ago
What do you think gives them name recognition and recency bias?

u/UraniumDisulfide Los Angeles Dodgers 35m ago edited 31m ago
Something contributing to something else doesn't necesarilly make them the same thing. Dodgers being defending back to back champs contributes to their name recognition and recency bias, and it also is independently reason to have thought they were the best team. I don't think we should just be ignoring the fact that Ohtani is injured btw.

The fact you think that’s a reason to think they were the best team this season is literally the recency bias… why would last year or two years ago matter more than this year right now? It’s just a fact the brewers had a better record than the dodgers this season and have looked better than the dodgers this entire post season. Thinking that what was true in the past must be true now is recency bias and that’s all you’re doing using 2024 and 2025 as evidence for 2026

6 runs on 9 hits with 3 HRs, you love to see it.

This is the small ball I've been told about!

Yes, the further the ball is away from you when you hit it the smaller it looks.

First time down 0-3 in a series since 1966 for the Dodgers. Crazy stat.

Dodgers just did not look like a team that believes they could come back down 4 runs against an elite bullpen.

u/itsnotyellowfever Los Angeles Dodgers 3h ago
The Bauers home run was about as clear a time of death for a team as we've had in a while
They needed so much to go right to barely scratch across two in an inning they burned their entire bench for two pinch hitters who both struck out then Bauers and Mitchell come back and render all of that useless in about 10 minutes
25
u/Whatsdota Milwaukee Brewers 3h ago
I believe the last 4 dodgers leads have not lasted longer than the next half inning

u/Quantumsystem00 3h ago
Bauers put the nail in yamas and snells outings just completed unfooled by anything and hitting everything. Not sure who will get the NLCS mvp but those were game changing at bats

u/ItsVencu Milwaukee Brewers 3h ago
he was the difference in the last two games for sure, I won't be surprised if he doesn't get it because he doesn't have numbers, but the 12 pitch walk and 11 pitch 2 run home run turned both games

Praying that we get to see Manfred try to market Milwaukee vs Tampa/ Cleveland to an international audience.

I will never understand the 30% odds they gave the Brewers, anyone could see they've been steamrolling

I thought it was the Padres year, the way September went, the way they rolled over the Cubs. Nope, they ran into the Milwaukee Brick Wall.

He’s a weird case. Has been great and helped us to 3 rings but I think most of us would agree he never reached the individual heights we thought he would.

u/JuIio_Jones Los Angeles Dodgers 1h ago
Anyone who looks at Mookie’s tenure with the dodgers as a “weird case” is a clown, straight up

I'm getting big 2011 Lakers vibes from the Dodgers. Their stars just seemed exhausted and done for. Shohei looks like hes declining just like Kobe was. Their others star hitters look washed up

u/Funderpants Tampa Bay Devil Rays 1h ago
They look like some of the past yankees teams that overwhelmed teams and won. But when it doesnt work they cant adjust.
Dodgers still have an insane rotation, deepest farm system and solid core. Im not counting them out anytime soon.

I don’t want to hear anything anymore from anyone, especially Robert’s leaving Snell for more than 6, not giving Paula any shot whatsoever, Edman had a TERRIBLE GAME.

He was pulled in the 4th vs the braves right? I was shocked he left him in that long in whats basically an elimination game
