Personally, I fully expected Mookie to call him a lousy bum that’s read for Cancun, so this is surprising. /s

Given his buddies in the manosphere it wouldn't shock me if he called out his "mental toughness"

Apparently I missed this whole thing, but I keep seeing it referenced. Is this like Mookie's new thing?

Is he trying, jennifer?

Ohtani's been offering up a lot of eggs lately lol
(Or maybe that's the joke you were going for)

That’s what my dad would say about me when I struck out for the 10th time in a row on a ball 2 feet off the plate in little league

What do you expect from a guy who’s only making $2 million a year?

Gods do not need to try. It’s clear he has been chastised by the other deities into ceasing his toying with the mortals and it’s infuriating for him. I expect before the end of these playoffs he will snap, smoke a hole through the moon with his last home run ever, flip the bat off into space, and then fly away never to be seen again.

He’s looked out of shape physically as well.
Not being able to exercise due to knee + two kids at home?

I can only imagine Dave Roberts has filled the clubhouse with Meeseeks

Ohtani is just setting up for his own Kirk Gibson hero moment.
Not a Dodgers fan by any means but I still get chills remembering Gibson's HR in the 88 WS.

Oh man, that quote doesn’t sound like from a team about to on a winning streak. Yikes

we can't see the future, but it really seems like the dodgers don't got it this year

this feels like the thing reddit says before the dodgers win 4 straight

And everyone acts like it was entirely predictable. Something something ruining baseball.

Or… the brew crew really got it

u/MXITIR Los Angeles Dodgers 3h ago
So did the Braves in 2020, Padres in 2024, Blue Jays in 2025....
I actually do think the Brewers got it this year. But the Dodgers coming back when everyone thought they were dead is something that has happened before.

Oh I am a dodgers fan so I’ve been reminding myself of that to bed last couple of days too haha… let’s see. Here we go

Ohtani is obviously hurt. And he saw what Freddie did in 2024. So he probably feels like he has no excuse even though he likely wouldn't be on the field if it wasn't the postseason.

Very clear that no one has actually read the article and only read that 2 word quote lmao

No one thinks otherwise.
I still believe all this talk is a trick.

I remember when Betts was doing horrible. He said he wished it was from trying too hard but it wasn't.
Let's hope Ohtani find what clicks and figure it out.

Ohtani has earned the benefit of the doubt, even if it means we lose you don't want to show a guy you lost faith in him

He should do a whole lot more than try for $700 million

Mookie the cheater acting like we should infantilize a $700,000,000+ player

Did Roberts shake up the lineups at all in the ‘24 or ‘25 playoffs?
Full on panic mode 😆

Freddie was benched for 2 of the 2024 NLCS games
Mookie was regularly batting 2nd and got shifted down the 4 spot by the end of the 25 World Series

u/lasercupcakes Los Angeles Dodgers 3h ago
Freddie sat out in 2024 because he was still recovering from a serious ankle sprain.
4
u/calilove918 Los Angeles Dodgers 3h ago
Yeah. He put in Miggy Ro at 2nd in game 6 and 7 of the World Series and we all know what happened

I mean, I originally thought "Well duh, that's what you do, you try" but then I remembered that Rendon exists.
