Since the last post about this got deleted because it contained a X screenshot, hopefully this one actually stays for comment.

The fact they didn't call it Other Mother is enough reason not to see it

[u/TuukkaRascal → u/Equivalent-Tune6003]

That’s from Coraline tho

[u/Michael__Pemulis → u/TuukkaRascal]

FWIW, I already assumed it was Coraline related as is until my wife corrected me.

Ball Knower.

I really dislike Coraline! My ten year-old niece who likes scary stuff has liked it since she was tiny...but it's just body horror to me, which is my least-favorite form of horror. (Plus, Coraline also reminds me too much of one recurring nightmare I have of being stuck in another dimension! Thanks, "Are You Afraid of the Dark?" lol.)

Sounds too much like Mother Lover

The fact that they didn't use the title from the book it's based on, Incidents Around the House, was enough of a red flag for me.  That title is evocative and interesting. Other Mommy is boring and weird.

[u/pargofan → u/Dragons_Malk]

Incidents Around the House is better than Other Mommy?

No offense, but the first title sounds REALLY BORING.

[u/Ok-Sea9612 → u/pargofan]

Agreed, Sounds like a satirical joke title you'd see in tropic thunder or rick and morty

One of my favorite movies.

"What do YOU mean what do you mean you people?"

[u/jimihenderson → u/pargofan]

i'm just like a little boy... playing wit his dick when he nervous

[u/Dragons_Malk → u/pargofan]

And somehow Other Mommy sounds like a better title to you?

[u/pargofan → u/Dragons_Malk]

Slightly.

It has an ominous tone. A child normally has one mother, so what does "other" Mommy mean?

Incidents around the House is clumsy me every morning trying to get ready for work. Ha!

[u/jimihenderson → u/pargofan]

incidents around the house is starring martin freeman as himself as always, getting into various blunders around the house and not being able to explain to people how he found himself in those predicaments

[u/ParsonsTheGreat → u/jimihenderson]

Fargo season 1? lol

[u/jimihenderson → u/ParsonsTheGreat]

damn true lol

[u/VaudevilleDada → u/Dragons_Malk]

I didn't know that was the original title. That is better.

[u/BkniBottomTranqulity → u/Equivalent-Tune6003]

In context of the movie, it would sound weird if the girl kept referring to her as “other mother” because for one, the rhyming would sound weird, and for two, what six year old girl refers to her mom as “mother”

Other mommy is just much more natural/less forced

[u/VaudevilleDada → u/Equivalent-Tune6003]

Motherboy XXX
