So the Phillies basically had no plan other than Alex Cora, and then when Cora said "Uh no thanks I'm just not going to manage this year" they just decided that the GM's dad would be good enough.

Gotta wonder how Rob Thomson feels about all of this. Fired because his team had 1 month of bad BABIP luck that proceeded to normalize over the rest of the season after he was fired, was constantly disrespected by a shit player in Castellanos, Dombrowski wanted to get back in bed with his old friend after he was fired 3 days before Thomson, and then the Phillies proceeded to settle for the GM's oldhead media darling dad. Thomson couldn't buy respect in Philly if it was free.

I feel you but Donnie is a lot more than the GMs dad. He has managed good teams in the past

He has, but probably not a coincidence the Dodgers finally broke through after he was fired and replaced with Roberts.
