As a small market team guy it makes me sad that a great team with a great run over multiple years like the rays end up with half the stadium being away fans for an ALCS game. Hopefully the stadium move gets the rays more fan attendance.

Milwaukee might be the smallest market but I'll be damned if we aren't passionate about our brewers, even when they sucked.

You rays fans that show out to love your team have my respect. Here's to hoping for our small market WS matchup!

This is also just population behavior. Tampa is a winter hangout for Ohioans, so of course they’ll take up a larger chunk of the stadium down there.

You might be surprised to learn that Floridians also overwinter in Florida

I really don't know how you could see the crowd tonight compared to the typical ones at the Trop when the Yankees/Sox play and think it was half Cleveland fans.

I honestly don't watch much baseball outside of the brewers/nl central. (Theres just to many games for myself to keep up with the fan dynamics of most mlb teams. And I probably have a chip on my shoulder being from Wisconsin and the brewers getting discredited in favor of big market teams) but it didnt seem like a very great "home field" advantage for the rays.

The fans there tonight were absolutely majority Rays fans. Probably at least 80%, issue was just there were some open seats which there is no excuse for. The issue is that sellouts at the Trop largely depend on who the away team is. Yankees or Boston in town? No issues selling out that game and you're looking at a ratio closer to 50/50. Cleveland just isn't much of a draw in comparison.

Really well put. They screwed up the pricing given what we already know about the teams attendance. You’re getting roughly the same number of rays fans from last series in the stadium in this with a significantly greater home/away fan ratio but there’s less Cleveland fans vs Yankees fans. You’d think they would’ve accounted for that with smarter pricing but that’s none of my business

There are a shitload of people who moved to Tampa/St Pete from Ohio. It’s not surprising that there would be 15k or so who would do anything to go to a Guardians game here.

I was at the game tonight there were hardly any Cleveland fans.

As a lifelong Tigers guy, the more I learn about both the Rays and Brewers, the more I love you both. I really want to see a Rays v Brewers WS. Wish all the best to you guys.

Cleveland's going to be absolutely nuts. Maybe the superior fan energy and the colder weather will be worth half a run.

How many people go and move to Milwaukee from Ohio, Chicago, New York, Boston, or Philadelphia (New Jersey)?
