Yeah there’s really no truth to thr perception but the narrative matters. The Red Sox built up 100 years of underdog vibes but I think they’re largely gone at this point.

That said I’d never root for the Yankees against them, but I am certainly becoming more mellowed with age in terms of hating the Yankees. The current club is nothing like the early 00s lineups that I detested so much.

Tf do you mean there's no truth to the perception. The Red Sox have had a higher payroll than the Yankees ONE year (2018).

The older I get, the less I care what people think. At the end of the day it's a game that I love watching, and even though yes I want my team to win it all in the end. Once it's over, I move on to the next thing until next year lol.

People that have this undying hatred for The Yankees make me laugh. Like shit dude even I hate some Yankees fans that are just embarassing.

This is how I feel as a cowboys fan. We’ve haven’t won anything since the 90s but I still root for the team and hope for the best. The haters are loud but oh well, what can we do?

I’m with you on not having the same passion about it. Used to get pissed off, but now, I appreciate the game more and just move on to… I don’t know what, drinking some more beers and watching Yankee highlights.

Na, the yankees have outspent the red sox other than 3 years and usally the yankees outspend the red sox by a lot.

I was at a conference with a lot of New Englanders when they finally broke the curse and it was fun celebrating with them, but since then they've become as bad as the Yankees.

Holy propaganda. The yankees have had a higher payroll other than 2017, 2018, and 2019 (only barely, too, other than 2018, by the red sox). Otherwise they've had a far higher payroll.
