Maybe I’m biased/sensitive, but it just seems like every single year the team that beats us can’t wait to be as disrespectful as possible. I don’t really care, talk yo shit, but I don’t really think anyone has said anything except compliments about the Rays all year.

they are not. lotsa rings with a 12 team league and before the league let black guys play. (yankees had some say in that timeline.)

Conversely, I think i prefer this over them pitying NYY. Itll be a dark day in Yankee history when a team beats them into submission and acts like it’s nothing (that day is coming)

I mean I really think that’s a correct take. The Rays own the blue jays, and the fact they’re in the playoffs makes no difference to me and I’d back them over every other AL East team, and a few others as well (dodgers, rangers, and etc.). That’s waAaay worse.

I imagine the players are probably basing a lot of it on what they experience either in the stadium or their own interactions. And from my own experience there are few fans more obnoxious and vulgar than yankees fans in a stadium. So he may have just been responding to some heckling he was getting on the third base line.

Same thing happens to the leafs in hockey. When you’re one of the biggest and loudest fanbases that’s going to happen.

The Yankees do absolutely live rent free in my head. I went to bed early last night and had a dream that the Yankees won the series.

I’m just glad the version of the Yankees that are a good baseball team is a fictional figment of my imagination.

All I’m saying is this is the third year in a row the Dodgers, Blue Jays and now Rays have eliminated us and then couldn’t wait to talk shit as disrespectfully as possible.
