It’s hard not to think about how good this team would’ve been had our generational talent not turned out to be a disgusting monster. Like, it’s the lowest bar to clear. It just adds an extra layer of pain to the whole situation for Rays fans, even if it is a touch selfish and pales in comparison to the importance of the crime itself.

People forgot but purely from a baseball standpoint, Wander probably would've been as good as Witt, maybe just a hair worse. Really unfortunate he had to be a pedo.

I'll actually say no to this one. Witt is just so much more consistent, where Wander would go entire months of looking horrible at the plate and then would go nuclear for another month. Witt also had a 10.5 WAR season at age 24, which while yes, was a year older than Wander when everything transpired, is the fourth best shortstop season ever
