My friend's uncle works for the MLB and he said the umps check the game threads for complaints about the strike zone and make adjustments based on those comments, so keep 'em coming!

It’s so crazy to me how taboo gambling on sports used to be and now they actively advertise it mid-game

28

u/axeil55 Philadelphia Phillies Oct 09 '23

The irony of MLB playing gambling ads while Pete Rose is alive is absurd.

Any Brave fan complaining about us facing the Phillies over the Dbacks is dumb. In either of the previous two playoff formats, we would have matched up with Phillies because they would be the only wild card and we would be the top seed. (Also complaining about format is so weak and poverty franchise. We had a much harder path to the World Series in 2021 than we do this year and we still won it all. If you can’t beat a team, you don’t deserve to win it all).

Down a run in the 9th is the time to be aggressive like that. It looked like the ball was in the gap initially so it makes sense for Bryce to go for it.

Heartbreaking to lose after looking in control so much of that game - but we wasted a Wheeler gem by sending him back out, and those LOBs came back to bite. Braves finally came to life in those last 2 innings and earned it.

If the Braves offense had a pulse at all right now, Strider pitched more than good enough to win game one and Fried has been giving them a gutsy enough performance keeping them in the game today. I don't know if I saw a time all season where the entire line-up looked cold at the same time but it does now.
