General Several firsts in episode 3 Spoiler

First handshake this season!

The real first though, is the Audience Choice to bring family members in to bake the signature! That was fun and interesting.

I was delighted to see Paul give the family member a handshake as well. First time a non-contestant received a Hollywood Handshake.

First time the Technical was "You choose your bake", with varying degrees of success. Again, due to AC (Audience Choice).

First time the Showstopper was a wearable bake. Numerous interpretations of this, from cake to biscuit. AC to be wearable.

First time one of the Hosts (Alison), asked for (and got) a Hollywood Handshake, in a very humorous manner.

Person eliminated ask for, and got, a handshake goodbye from Paul. Another first.

Person who won Star Baker called home to tell, and family member cussed, multiple times (all bleeped out). Having seen every season, can confirm this was a first!

Overall, the uniqueness of this episode was a breath of fresh air.

I was surprised nobody tried any wearable bread.

I was thinking the same thing. was it because of the time limit? no time for proving?

Maybe they're more cake oriented bakers. We'll see in bread week :)

I think Nikki's sister got lost in Paul's blue eyes...

Loved every bit of it except the wearable bake. I feel like it kept the bakers from being able to make actual showstoppers, as they had to focus on the absurdity of the challenge instead.

tbh I didn't think that one was a good idea, either.

truly Loved the Technical though, and felt it was long overdue. hope that bring that back in the future- maybe as a Showstopper?

The relative thing felt absolutely pointless imo and I hope it’s not repeated going forward

I think it was intended to add more stakes to the show, but it had the opposite effect. In my own kitchen, just the thought of someone trying to help me bake a super important bake causes anxiety. In the tent though, I think having my partner there would calm my nerves.

I thought having the "relative" be a helper made the show more boring. I felt like fast forwarding through all that.

I really didn't feel like it added anything whatsoever.

Perhaps it is just the edit, but there has been no discussion of potentially two bakers going home in one week (because of Shannon’s illness week one and no one leaving). There did not seem like a big difference between Shannon and Molly in week three yet only one went.
