Cause theyre used to the media stroking them off every chance they get. You got mlb's biggest "journalists" not even hiding their bias anymore in the past couple of years, every announcer defending them and not hiding their biases, and every player saying actually it's good for us to get more money yeah. When it turns out the manufactured image isn't the real image of the actual people it throws them for a loop.
