Action cameras not made in china

Yet another post asking about action cameras. I’ve found old posts here asking the same thing, and a majority of the recommendations now seem to be discontinued or unavailable. So…

I’m looking for an action camera, something I can wear for when I’m doing sports. GoPro is an option, but from what I understand they are still made in china (I don’t like in the US or EU). Are there any decent brands or products that anyone knows of that I can pivot to instead?

Just to be clear, I don’t mean a dash cam or door cam. Something like the insta360 go 3, suitable for sports and minimally intrusive attachments.

Sony FDR-X3000R, is Made in Thailand.

From my understanding, most Sony cameras are Made in Thailand, although some may still be Chinese-made.

Unfortunately the only FDR-X3000R I can find is stamped as made in China, as are the three listed on Sony’s international website: FDR-X3000, HDR-AS300, and HDR-AS50R (I checked eBay listings for ones that showed the actual label).

It’s possible that they’re made in more than one location, but definitely double check.

Hmm you may be right. Sony hasnt made new models so it's possible alot were made before the switch. Most of Sony's cameras are now Thai-made which is good, but doesnt help when some are still Made or were Made in China

If I see one Thai-made, Ill let you know

Is it still being made, or is it all on the second hand market? Their website lists it as discontinued.

Some GoPro units are made in Thailand or Mexico. You can check their declaration of conformities: https://gopro.com/content/dam/help/declaration-of-confomities/HERO10Black_DoC_REVA.pdf

However, you always need to check real images of the unit you want to buy to confirm before continuing.
