Yet again it’s fallen on the women to sort out temporary solutions
Why don’t the men of the community take some action and stop letting it be so socially acceptable to bash women?

part of my job is interacting with people from communities like Wadeye and I can't emphasise enough there's not enough being done. These people are genuinely kind generous people. But you have 24 different cultures squished into a community where there's not that many houses and not all of the houses are liveable. You barely have room in Wadeye to wipe your own arse in peace let alone house 24 different cultures with their own customs histories and ways of living, Imagine squishing a small group of high ups from every former soviet union country in a town map from the sims and that's Wadeye. The worst part is if you talk to anyone there they know what needs to be done they all know how best to get their community back. It's just not treated seriously by people who aren't from Wadeye because they seem to think it's a bunch of drunks having fistfights that need to get some self control when it's the indigenous equivalent of forcing ukraine and russia to live in the same 2bed 1bath unit.
