I have never used them, so I can't comment on the firm itself. But a couple of things worth knowing before you go any further:
In Australia, it's generally not allowed to cold call retail investors to sell them shares (the anti-hawking rules). So an unsolicited call offering pre-IPO shares is a red flag on its own, whoever it's from.
Easy checks:
- Look them up on ASIC's professional register to see if they actually hold an AFSL, and that the details match the website they gave you
- Search their name on ASIC Moneysmart's investor alert list
- Don't give any personal or bank details over the phone
If a big company does an IPO, you'd normally get access through a broker you already use, not a stranger ringing you.
Personally, I will ignore such sales calls.
Sorry if that's a bit of a buzzkill, but better to check first than chase your money after.
Out of curiosity, do you usually invest in IPOs? And does something like Anthropic actually fit your portfolio, or was it more the excitement of the call?

Not familiar with Beyond.
However, if you are genuinely being called to sell you anthropic (not a some scam) it seems to me that there's shit loads of shares on issue and brokers are having trouble off loading stock to more sophisticated investors and institutions. Cold calling and flogging stock is like door to door sales tactics to me.
There maybe some big early gains like SPCX but it's 50 dollars plus below its peak.
There's a boom in ai but also a backlash. i know nothing about their valuation or if it looks good or not, but its not something Id be jumping in to.
