In the second episode of our Halloween special, Haze has disappeared after his terrifying encounter with the Headless Horseman, leaving Grandpa and Baby Bird to navigate the maze on their own.
After finally finding each other, the two barely have time to regroup before a massive boulder comes crashing down the corridor behind them. Very "Temple of Doom" ish. They escape by the skin of their teeth, but the collapse leaves a huge section of the maze completely blocked off.
Things somehow get worse when Baby Bird carefully tries to cross one of the maze’s deadly goo traps and is suddenly kicked straight into it by... Haze!?!?
Except something is very wrong.
Haze’s head has been replaced by a horrifying jack-O-lantern, and he appears to be under the control of the Headless Horseman.
Can Grandpa and Baby Bird escape from whatever Haze has become, or can they somehow save him? Only one way to find out.
If there's a cryptid, monster, or haunted location you'd like to see the team investigate in a future case, let us know in the comments. Your suggestion might become the next mission for the D.A.N.G.E.R.Z.O.O.

Hey there! Im not a super heavy listener of audio dramas, midnight burger got me into the medium back when it started and I have been listening to it every few months when the urge hits. I’ve also listened to a bit of tower 4 and Alice isn’t dead. I recently binged the last 4 seasons of midnight burger and it’s side series when I started my new job, but it’s only been a month and now I’m without an audio drama.
I feel like I want to switch it up and try a high fantasy style audio drama, like Tolkien or the forgotten realms type of story. Preferably something not dark fantasy though, not really my vibe. Thank you in advance!
I’ve recently listened the Amelia Project and was obssessed. Previously listened to Nightvale and World Gone Wrong. Please give me something I can binge, preferably with 20 mins + episodes.
Episode 12 of the 13-episode full-cast, full-production science fiction audio drama. A murder mystery in neon utopia.
WHERE WE LEFT OFF
Nan and company now know the secret within the heart of Metropolis. But one cold question remains: will they remain alive long enough to do anything about it?
Our penultimate episode! This episode obviously took a very, *very* long time to release. I'm incredibly proud of it, but even moreso, I'm incredibly thankful of how patient everyone has been across the yawning chasm between Episode 11 and this one. You all are just wonderful, and I apologize for long I've left everyone in suspense in the meantime. 😂
The end really is coming. I'm already editing together the finale (which was recorded an eternity ago), so the wait for the conclusion will not be nearly as long as the wait for this has been.
The amazing thing about editing these episodes together is that each time, I get to revisit Metropolis and all of these incredible people and places. I get to do it one more time. I am really, really going to miss it when I'm done.
Hi everyone! I wanted to ask you guys which audio dramas you would consider to be the most diversive and distinct from other mediums in their treatment of queerness. We all know that the presence of queer characters in audio dramas are basically the norm of the medium (?) and almost expected even if it isn't a central theme. I was wondering about the ways in which the medium offers new and different ways for this to exist in ways that wouldn't be possible or preferable in film, tv series, books, comics etc. Thanks in advance and looking forward to discussion on this!
Thank you to everyone who has taken the time to listen, read, rate, and give feedback. It is sorely appreciated. We're not alone out here!
In case you haven't checked it out yet...
In the city of Slakterquay there's an office with the words Aggie McPherson Spectral Analysis on the pebbled glass of its door. Behind it is a detective agency that handles the strangest cases in the Paris of the Pacific Northwest. In this episode, the inspector meets Pastor Neumann, the friendliest man that doesn't want her asking about the one who died on his way into town.
We dropped episode 3 last week and would love if you checked it out!
Each episode of Secret Tapes follows a different sort of neurotic fool and Havin' a Think is no different. In this story, we follow William as he seeks solitude to ponder some recent life-altering events. Instead what he finds is the chance for community, if he would only let himself be accepted.
RSS | YouTube (custom visualizers for each episode)
I know, YouTube isn't the best place for audio dramas, and I should just use Spotify but I hate dealing with the ads, I pay for premium and still have to listen to 5 ads per episode. However due to relistening to the Magnus archives on YouTube, I've learned that it isn't an issue on YouTube, at least not with that series at least. So I just want to know if there are any others out there
"The Strange Thing About the Tavern" featuring Xolo Maridueña, Graham McTavish, Eubha Akilade, and Conor McKenna
I’m the creator of The Strange Thing About…, an independent horror audio anthology from Bang Zoom! Studios. Our newest episode, The Tavern, is out and I wanted to share it here.
Lost in a freezing fog along the rugged western coast of Ireland, American college student Michael (Xolo Maridueña) stumbles upon a lonely old tavern glowing in the darkness. Inside, the fire is warm, the ale is extraordinary, and the locals are... a little strange.
Michael strikes up a conversation with Callum (Graham McTavish), a grizzled Scottish cabbie who offers to tell him a true story about a mysterious young woman he picked up outside a hospital many years ago. But as Callum’s haunting tale unfolds, an old bell keeps tolling, the crowd begins to thin, and Michael starts to wonder exactly what kind of place he’s wandered into.
From the Emmy Award-winning team at Bang Zoom! Studios, THE STRANGE THING ABOUT THE TAVERN is a supernatural audio drama about lost souls, unfinished journeys, and a final drink at the end of the road.
Xolo Maridueña (Cobra Kai, Blue Beetle, One Piece), Graham McTavish (The Hobbit, Outlander, House of the Dragon), rising Scottish actress Eubha Akilade, and Conor McKenna of acclaimed Irish comedy trio Foil Arms and Hog.
If you enjoy The Twilight Zone or old EC horror comics, that’s the spirit behind this series. Full cast, original score, custom foley, and 3D binaural sound. Headphones recommended.
It’s a 24-minute standalone story, so you can start here without hearing the earlier episodes. You can find it pretty much anywhere you listen to podcasts.
“Ark” by Solar Driftwood Media is a fun improv audio drama that released last year (2025).
It’s about Noah, a 600-year-old would-be standup comedian, interviewing pairs of animals aboard his ark (actually, ship), under the behest of his unemployed son and his encouraging wife.
Each episode interviews a new pair of animals (peacock, armadillo, dinosaur), acted by a new pair of improv comedians. They discuss love life, gossip, and complaints and suggestion about ark housing.
I think I discovered this podcast through Audio Fiction Release podcast which is a fun way to discover first episodes of new audio dramas. I didn’t pick up Ark again until yesterday, when I found myself listening to six episodes straight because of how funny it was and how good the improv comedians were.
The audio drama is mostly just a back and forth conversation, with a few animal sounds layered in the background that does get funnier when you can pick out which animal is making which sound eventually after their interviews. There is not much or any special effects or transitions or anything to immerse you except for the wit of the cast.
Probably this is why I wasn’t drawn in last year but now actually listening, yeah it’s great. The episodes build up as each interviewee begins to mention some particular animals that are particularly hard to share a boat ship with.
Noah is played like a guy who thinks he’s god’s favorite with a big wiener. But also he’s a slightly terrible person who also has a lazy eye.
My favorite episode is the “Dinosaurs” episode where Noah keeps mentioning the “chicken wing” size of the t-Rex ittty bitty arms. While the dinosaur claps back with hits on his drifting eye. Even the normally chill actor plays Noah broke then in laughter and had to go to commercial break.
vs The Love Ark
This audio drama has a similar type of humor as another audio drama “The Love Ark” which also has a similar cast of characters but is more production heavy with a catchy showtune theme song (“the love arrrrrrkkkkkk 🎶🎵🎤). But their Noah is much more a crazed geezer. And it is more graphic haha.
I do like how “Ark” hits on some of the bible stuff more. Like bringing up some of God’s inconsistencies about the number of days he took to make the earth. Just little pieces that makes me think some of the cast at least made it through Sunday school.
Delta Green is a TTRPG that takes the foundation of the Lovecraft mythos and Call of Cthulhu RPG and expands it to a secret government conspiracy to stomp out the unnatural before the general public discovers its existence.
A chilling omen falls upon the village of Kaltvík.
Sorry, Honey, I Have To Take This features serious horror-play with comedic OOC, original/unpublished content, original musical scores and compelling narratives.
We're available on all platforms (Apple, Spotify, Stitcher, etc).
The Wheat Sea - Fear turns a crowd dangerous, but new friends are made.
Earth, Again is a ten-episode audio drama set years after humanity was forced back to a permanent pre-electric age. When sixteen-year-old Liv learns her pacemaker battery is failing, her father Robert - a former NASA engineer - leads a desperate thousand-mile horseback journey across Montana, Idaho, and Washington to reach a secret military prototype that might save her life. What they find at the end of the road will matter as much to the human race, as it will to Liv.
Witchpunk - we got all the cyberpunk, the drama, the angry combat witches, the past-it gunman, the searching pilot, the hacker in over her head, dodgy cargo, orbital assault AIs, Big Corp, - did we mention hardcore combat priests? - action scenes galore, great characters - we just need your ears.
Season one is six episodes and is the first act of a three season/act story. Season two is currently in production. We don’t use Gen AI.

With her eyesight slowly failing, Grace Lewis moves her husband Marshall and daughter to the idyllic town of Springfield, where holistic doctors promise that a natural, technology-free way of life will help restore her vision and heal the ailments of all of the other ill residents.
But Springfield has its secrets, and as Grace's symptoms get worse and she begins hearing a monstrous voice that shouldn't exist, she uncovers a secret that puts her family's life, and the rest of the town, in danger.
How i Died:The Carrington Event is a completely independent story following new characters (with some familiar voices) set INSIDE of a Springfield experimental town. Meaning, you don't need to listen to the other seasons to enjoy this new one. It's the perfect entry point, just in time for spooky season. But, for existing fans, there are plenty of easter eggs and fun connections to the main story. Check out the embedded trailer above.
This season will run for 7 episodes, released every other week. Listen on:
Director's Note: Personally, I absolutely love horror and have been so excited about making this season for a long time now. How i Died's main arc has some spooky moments, but this new story arc blends mystery and horror to the perfect degree, I think. And, fun fact, I originally planned this story before Jon even existed! If you check it out, I'd love to talk with you about it.
I'm curious how the audio drama community feels about the use of AI-generated images specifically for promotional content.
For some context, I've spent the better part of a year working on an audio drama with an incredibly talented cast, and we're getting ready to release our first season.
As I start putting together promotional material for TikTok, YouTube, and other platforms, I've been considering using AI-generated images as static backgrounds for things like trailers, audio clips, and bonus content.
To be clear, I'm not talking about using AI voices, AI-written scripts, or replacing any of the actual creative work that goes into producing the show. I'm strictly talking about visuals to accompany audio on platforms where having something on screen is pretty much a necessity.
My question is, if you came across a trailer or promotional clip for an audio drama and noticed the background image was AI-generated, would that immediately turn you away from checking out the show?
Would it make a difference to you if the actual production was entirely human-created?
I'm genuinely interested in hearing people's perspectives, especially as both listeners and creators. I'm not looking to start an AI debate or convince anyone one way or another. I just want to understand how people feel about it before making decisions about how to promote something my cast and I have put so much work into.
Our investigators are wrapping up the Mystery In the Pines, but we aren't done quite yet! Weatherby's secret comes out, and Doctor Jensen receives an awful injury after being knocked out by lumberjacks in the woods.
