He also included Maronites and Copts and evangelicals and others about the 2026 Senate race between Democratic nominee Abdul El-Sayed an Egyptian-American Muslim and Republican nominee Mike Rogers, former congressman.

In the video he distinguished ordinary Muslims from what he described as organized Islamist political projects in Michigan. He claims El-Sayed is connected to or supported by networks associated with the Muslim Brotherhood and other Islamic organizations that in his view, seek gradual influence in Western societies. Several major Arab Muslim countries including Egypt, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE, have also banned or designated the Muslim Brotherhood as a terrorist group. He argues that Michigan’s Assyrians and the Arab Christian communities together form a large enough voting bloc to affect the outcome and urged them to vote rather than remain passive.

Why do many Arabs claim being "Arabic speaking Assyrians"?

Genetic analysis clearly debunks those claims. The Arabs of Iraq are genetically distinct from the Assyrians. Even the Arabs from the North aren't genetically identical to Assyrians.

So why do they falsely claim being Assyrians when they're not? Is it to justify their presence in regions outside of the Arabian peninsula?
