Q: Airport baggage logistics

I’m traveling with TK from BCN to VKO with a layover in IST. At BCN we checked in our luggage straight to VKO. My flight to VKO got diverted to LED and canceled. Does anyone know where and how to pickup the luggage? I’m writing this while I’m still in the plane and want to know what to expect in advance.

I’m also relatively new on here and wondering if it’s the right sub.

Do you actually need a 20K power bank for a week of city travel?

I'm heading to Rome, Florence, and Venice for a week and trying to pack light since I'll be taking trains between cities and walking around most of the day.

I've been using a 20K power bank for most of my trips. Nothing wrong with it, but it's kinda bulky to carry around all day, and half the time I get back to the hotel with most of the battery still left.

So I'm thinking of switching to a 10K this time. I've been looking at Anker, but some of their smaller models seem pretty pricey. UGREEN has a few decent options too, though there are so many models to choose from. The lisen 10K looks pretty compact and might be what I go for, but I'm still a little unsure about the capacity.

I'll mostly be using Google Maps, taking pics, and checking train tickets, and I can charge everything at the hotel every night.

For those who've done similar city trips, would you stick with a 20K or go for a smaller 10K? What should I do?

Carrying HRT Tablets

I will travel in Asia for a year, starting with Thailand. I take HRT, and I need to take a year's supply, as I might not be able to find the same ones everywhere. But seems I should only take one month's supply. I don't know what to do. Is it bad to take the risk?

Tips for jetlag

Hi everyone,

I'm quite a well-travelled person, former humanitarian worker for over 15 years but about to enter a crazy month of November, during which I'll be travelling to South-East Asia, then South America, then East Africa, staying/working 4-5 days in each location, with 3-7 days in between each (based in Europe).

Never had to manage such possible intense jet lag(s) in all directions in such a short period of time and happy to get any miracle tips you all may have in advance!

Thanks!

Best places in Canada or Mexico to visit

Thinking about taking a short trip somewhere with my wife next spring. Planning to stick to North America for financial and logistical reasons, so looking for good destinations that are safe, have some decent nightlife, good museums, and tolerable weather (so probably not the Canadian North).

We've already traveled in the US so we want something different.

I need to get to Italy from OKC. Would it be cheaper to take a round trip flight for ~$1,000 or are there cheaper alternatives by boat?

Morocco 15 days (Nov 21 – Dec 6): family first, then girlfriend. Route advice?

Hi everyone,

I’m (27M, Turkish) planning a trip to Morocco from November 21 to December 6 (about 15 days total) and would love your advice.

The setup:

  • Nov 21-28 (7 days): Traveling with my parents and my sister
  • Nov 28-Dec 6 (8 days): Continuing with my girlfriend, who joins me for the second half

I originally planned just one week, but a Moroccan friend told me two weeks would be much better, so I decided to extend the trip and bring my girlfriend along for the second part.

What I’m hoping to get advice on:

  1. First 7 days (family trip): What route would you recommend? Which cities and activities work well for a group of four adults of different ages?
  2. Last 8 days (with my girlfriend): What would be a good route? We’d also like to try surfing around Agadir (Taghazout, Imsouane, etc.), so I’d love tips on spots, surf schools, and whether late Nov/early Dec is a good time for beginners who will try it for second time.
  3. Overall route: Does it make sense to do the classic cities (Marrakech, Fes, Chefchaouen, Sahara desert) with my family and the coast with my girlfriend, or should I split it differently?
  4. Safety: Is traveling with my parents and sister/girlfriend in Morocco safe? Is there anything specific I should be aware of (scams, transport, dress code, cities, etc.)?
  5. Logistics: Is renting a car worth it, or are trains/private drivers better? Which airports would you fly in and out of to avoid backtracking?

Any itinerary suggestions, hidden gems, restaurant tips, or “things I wish I’d known” would be hugely appreciated. Thank you so much!

Why hotels might reject you at 2 AM even if the booking site said '3 people allowed' (and how to protect yourself).

Looking for help

Recently I booked a guest house in Rome for January 2027. Turns out the place is hell on earth, it’s nasty and also I got a free place to stay somewhere else around Rome. I was trying to contact the place I booked and also booking.com for a refund but neither of them even respond. The reservation had no cancelation refund… is there any possible way I can get my money back?

Does EasyJet allow use of different passports at online check-in for different flights on the same booking?

Fellow dual nationals who have flown EasyJet recently - did they allow you to enter different passports at online check-in for outbound and inbound flights under the same booking?

Expired EU passport: ETIAS problem on the flight home?

Hey, I've got a bit of a weird situation and can't find a clear answer anywhere.

I hold Canadian citizenship and citizenship of a Schengen country, where I actually live. Right now I'm in Canada, and my EU passport runs out shortly before a trip I've booked. I can't renew it in time because the nearest consulate is a long way off.

The plan is a few days in the US in Feb 2027, then a flight home to the Schengen country (my home country). I'd travel to the US and check in for the flight home with my Canadian passport.

As far as I understand it, ETIAS isn't live yet and has no start date. The official page also says there's a transition period of at least 6 months after launch where nobody gets refused for not having it. I also read that dual citizens can't even apply for it and are supposed to travel on their EU passport, which in my case would be expired.

So what actually happens if ETIAS does start before my trip and the airline checks?
