Elements of old popular songs you'd like to see make a comeback?
I don't know why we stopped including saxophone solos in our songs after the 1980s, but they need to come back.

I’d have to say third-eye blind’s self-titled album. How’s it going to be, god of wine, motorcycle drive-by, and the background are all bona fide breakup songs and just amazing songs in general.

Hey Guys, Been trying to figure our what Cory is playing from 0:48 - 1:40 for about 2 years. Not a piano player, but his left hand doing that nasty bass line that Michael tries to copy, and his right hand playing the melody, I would love for someone to be able to tell me exactly the notes he is doing, and I would love to see someone do it on piano. Can anyone help me out?

This song has a conversation during the introduction which I really like, I was wondering if anyone would be able to tell me what it’s been taken from? Convolk often adds similar things to a lot of his music, I’m pretty sure I found a song where some lines from breaking bad are sampled but I would have to double check.

I’m not talking about U2 here. What bands did you learn were religious that made you rethink it? Did it not matter ? Did they remain great artists or go cheese ball?

Why are we hearing songs that are totally destroying perfectly good 80s hits. Play the original, these remakes are trash and painful to listen to. They’re gonna make my ears bleed. Songs I’ve heard today that are awful remakes: Tainted Love, Dancing with Myself, and Can’t Take My Eyes Off Of You.

I was at a subway in a walmart of all places with my kids and we kind of heard this song from the booth behind us they asked me if it was doo wop and my brain short circuited because I dont think its doo wop then I was like well its kinda pop then my brain said country and I dont think its country. So when I got home I fired up spotify and ive listened to the song like 10 times at this point and it breaks my brain trying to place it.

Starts off kinda folk/country with a little pop vibe then it gets into like a soul doo wop thing.

Do you think it is slowcore or rather bedroom-pop

Link me the most played song on your playlist, either by time listening or number of listens. I’ll rate it from 1 to 10 according to my taste as a metal enthusiast. My most listened to song is “Beyond the North Waves“ by Immortal.

When I was growing up, it was so exciting to buy and own an album. But now we all can listen to albums in so many other ways. I'm part of some band communities on Reddit and am confused by how many people are posting a picture of an album cover with the caption, "finally got this on vinyl! It's been my favorite album for years and I listen to it all the time."
Okay? So you already listen to it regularly but now you bought another version just for the heck of it? When I searched online, one reason is that it's more difficult to skip around from one song to another and causes you to be more present to the album as a whole. But, can't you just choose to do that anyway regardless of which form you're listening to it on? I already choose to listen to albums as a whole and know not to judge a song until I hear it within the flow of the album as a whole.
So, is it just that having vinyl is somehow providing people with self discipline or something? Or being excited about tangible ownership again since everything is now about streaming? Help me out please 😁
