Physician Responded Daughter jumped off couch, landed and forcefully extended her spine. Had immediate difficulty breathing and had a syncopal event.

My daughter is 3 years of age and jumped off of our approx 2-3 foot high couch. She landed on both feet. Both knees hyperextended on impact, as did her neck, thoracic, and lumbar spine. She immediately looked at me and appeared distressed and couldn't inhale. Basically as though she "got the wind knocked out of her." She proceeded to then pass out for 5-10 sec and regained consciousness. Was terrifying.

We are now at the university hospital pediatric emergency waiting to be assessed. It's been about 4 hrs since the event and she is totally normal. Her affect is normal, and she's moving normally. Running, bending, and is able to breathe deeply again. Im wondering if it's worth us staying in emergency to get assessed, or if we're ok to go home. She is still describing some point tenderness over the spinous processes of her thoracolumbar junction. Initially, she was saying that it was wrapping around into her tummy, but this has also appeared to have resolved. Any insight appreciated.

Physician Responded Tissue coming out of draining ingrown hair/ folliculitis sore

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Age: 36

Sex: Male

Height: 5'8"

Weight: 165lb

Race: caucasian

Duration of complaint: hours

Location: right below knee residual limb. Right fibular head.

Any existing relevant medical issues: right leg below knee amputation (2013)

Current medications: None.

I deal with sores/ ingrown hair/ folliculitis on my residual limb regularly. Some persist for months. Some spots get further damaged because I have to wear my prosthetic and some spots get additional pressure from walking on uneven ground or stepping on a stone. They will often drain on their own or with a minor sewing needle puncture if the pore head is visible. The damaged ones are often filled with blood and pus and the draining provides a lot of relief and capacity to continue wearing my prosthetic. I have a spot that has been present for a while(months) but remained deep under the skin and was not very inflamed until last week or so. It surfaced yesterday and I was able to drain some fluid. This evening upon taking off my leg it was able to drain some more. After some light pressure to release the fluid I noticed a blob at the opening, I tried to wipe it away but it remained. I used a pair of tweezers to pull it away but it remained connected internally. I have had keratin plugs form on my stump before but this is soft tissue and connected to a nerve internally because it was sharp feeling when I pulled on it. Google is providing options for answers but I wanted to see if I could consult Reddit before I head to the hospital tomorrow. I've attached a video of me pulling on it. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Physician Responded ER?

Post image

54 female. 101lbs.

My aunt lives with me and hasn’t been feeling that great today. She’s been on dialysis for 22 years. She’s taken her blood pressure medicine already (Labetalol 100 mg 2x a day). She’s scared to take another dose due to her heart rate already being so low and doesn’t want her heart rate to drop any lower. It’s been staying in this range for the past hour to two hours. Is this pressure ER worthy? We have a call into her doctor We just have not heard back.

Almost 2 year old just started doing this about 2 weeks ago usually before bed or when sleepy, was admitted for a 24hr EEG came back as normal.. I’m really worried and don’t know else I should do? Is this stimming? Could it be sensory seeking or does it look like a seizure although EEG caught none?

A real mystery...any ideas?

About 3 months ago my mom (Age 70F..pretty youthful...fully able bodied plenty of energy...brain all there etc. before this problem) (5'2 189lbs, drinks rarely, never smoked, no drug use) was at my house and a few days later on the phone she mentioned her hand hurt...we laughed about her playing a new phone game too much or mayne too many hands of cards at my house the weekend before...for the next week everytime I talked to her I thought she was sucking on a hard candy or something..which I found kinda strange because shes a health nut. She came back into town the next weekend and when she left it kinda dawned on me I felt like she had a small slur the whole time she was here...and she was still complaining about the arm. I said to her one night on the phone...mom are you sure you didnt have a stroke? She laughed it off and her husband said he didnt notice the slur at all and she said she didnt either. another couple weeks goes by and she was visiting again ( she lives about 3 hours from me) and this time my husband noticed the slurred speech too and we both called it out. Mom, husband and rest of family all called us crazy and said they didn't hear. Meanwhile her arm is getting increasingly worse and its barely functioning. I start really getting on her...slurred speech and "limp" arm...MOM DID YOU HAVE A STROKE...again I get blown off...fast forward a few weeks later and hand is almost unuseable and speech is very clearly slurred like she is drunk. She goes somewhere and complains about the hand pain they send her to PT say its likely a pinched nerve.

Fast forward to now...

She cant walk with out assistance...cannot use her right hand and the whole arm hangs limp at her side. She can barely talk everything is super "choked up sounding" like talking to someone in an underground tunnel. It takes a lot of work for her to speak at all..it clearly exhaust her. Her arm is in pain especially at night. her legs are weak she shuffles everywhere.

She has seen 3 neurologist who all cant find a reason for it. I have not been to any appointments and her husband is not very proactive and they are both kinda against modern medicine so I don't know if I am getting full story..but apparently they have ruled out stroke, ruled out lukemia, ruled out tumors. I DONT UNDERSTAND how doctors can look at this lady who is barely functional now but was fully alive and thriving 3 months ago walk out of their office without a diagnosis or putting her in the hospital?! Anyone heard of anything like this? I am about to go out of my mind.

Physician Responded Almost died from a skin-only tummy tuck at a low-cost cosmetic chain. 11 months post-op, my body is still violently rejecting these hard, transparent plastic chunks—and the clinic is ghosting my record requests. What are these?

I’m 5’5 134lbs and had a tummy tuck at a low cost medical chain facility. I almost died and complained about my care and went to another hospital for after care, wound care, mri, X-rays and many other things regarding complications. 5 months after surgery these came out of my incision from my skin only tummy tuck. now 11 months later I had an ultrasound that confirmed more of these fragments. does anyone know what they are? the surgeon didn’t not disclose that anything was left internally and the clinic refuses to answer my questions and request for my medical file.

Cause of Sudden severe iron deficiency anemia

Post image
29 Upvotes

Hello! I’m 17F currently 5’6 currently 157 pounds, but normally 172 pounds. I take 10 mg of kids liquid Zyrtec, Norgestimate and Ethinyl Estradiol 0.25 mg norgestimate / 0.035 mg ethinyl estradiol and Fluticasone nasal spray. I have never smoked, vaped or drank alcohol and no past health issues. I’m currently dealing with sudden severe iron deficiency anemia.

My first sign of symptoms was the first week of September, I was laying in bed at night and my right leg was suddenly in pain. I couldn’t pinpoint the pain no matter where I touched. It went away after about 2 hour after I put my heating pad on it. I’m homeschooled and don’t work out so I knew I couldn’t have pulled a muscle or anything.

After that night I started getting consistent pain in my arms and legs, one day my arm would hurt, next day I’d be fine and then the day after that my opposite leg would start hurting like a cycle between both my arms and legs.

I also started feeling very fatigued around the same time along with a lack of hunger. I was also very pale along with an unusually light period, off and on headaches, and brain fog. I’d forget words in my sentences and I couldn’t remember conversations nor stuff I did the previous day. After about a week ish my mom got concerned and took me to our local urgent care which is connected to our local hospital.

The urgent care staff was convinced I was pregnant and too afraid to admit it because my mom was there. I made the mistake of peeing before we went, so when they needed me to pee in a cup I was unable to. I spent 4 hours drinking water and attempting to pee before they finally gave up and the doctor came in. (Odd detail I’m aware but it makes sense to add lol)

He checked my heart, ears and throat. Before finally ordering a blood test and a chest x-ray. The results came back and the doctor came in the room and he explained I had severe iron deficiency anemia and prescribed me pre-natal vitamins.

My mom bought them and being a concerned parent she noticed the vitamins contained no iron. She called a nurse help line connected to my pediatrician and told them my symptoms and they told us to head straight to the ER and to throw out the vitamins. They ran more tests along with a head CT and an EKG. The EKG and Head CT were good and they ran a bunch of other tests that were negative. My Hemoglobin was at 8.6 along with abnormal tests coinciding with my iron deficiency anemia. They gave me oral iron and sent me home, but I threw the iron up only an hour later and threw up for 3 more hours.

The ER doctor referred me to a hematologist since they couldn’t figure out what was wrong. Said hematologist would not take me as a patient since I’m still considered pediatric even though I’m turning 18 in December.

Before I could get an appointment with a pediatric hematologist my pediatrician wanted to see me. So a week after the hospital trip we went to her. They did a finger prick blood draw, mainly for mono which was negative. My hemoglobin had went up to a 9.6.

My pediatrician felt uncomfortable with how severe my symptoms were because they had gotten worse to the point where I couldn’t stand for more than 20 minutes without almost passing out. So I got referred to a pediatric hematologist at duke children’s hospital. I got an appointment only a week later with them.

I got my vitals and weight done at the start of the duke appointment and noticed I was 157 pounds now instead of as I stated above my normal 172 pounds, meaning I had been losing 15 pounds over the course of September without trying. My mom commented on it to the nurse practitioner we saw but she didn’t seem too concerned about it but I figured I’d include it in the post anyway.

I guess I looked pretty bad because they took more blood and didn’t wait for the results before perusing an iron infusion. I got 1000 mg of dextran iron over 3 ish hours. The blood tests came back and my hemoglobin was back at 8.6 and my ferritin was at a 2. The NP didn’t really comment on my blood results and just said I’d need to come back in a month.

I have my next appointment November 4th, My infusion was September 23rd. The NP told me I’d feel drastically better the next day after my infusion but it’s currently October 15th and I still feel the same.

I’m not really worried more just curious about what could have caused this so suddenly? I’m not having an GI issues, and my periods have been unusually light the past 2 times since my symptoms started.

Are there any questions I need to ask at my next appointment? I’m going to college this summer and my mom’s worried that this could come back while I’m far from home. I’ve never had medical issues before so me and my mom are out of our league here. Any insight would be appreciated! :)

I’ll also include all of the test results from my hematology appointment.

Physician Responded Final Update- Mass in Chest

Post image

Age 36

Sex female

Height. 5’4

Weight. 145

Race. White

Duration of complaint. 3 months

Location chest

Hello!

I’ve made two previous posts about the mass in my chest
And I want to extend my sincere thanks to this community and the doctors for supporting me and sharing their stories and opinions.

I did have the surgery exactly one week ago and recovery has been really hard. I never had a chest tube before. I did get the results that it was stage 1 thymoma cancer today. The surgeon called me, but he told me that the surgery took the whole mass with clear margins so I’m following up with cat scans at his office for the next few years.

Again, im so very thankful. This has been a crazy couple months and this community made me feel comforted.
Here’s to never posting in here again lol

Mother is 67 she has many health problems but her heart issue and high blood pressure is what Im worried about. She is 4’9 and probably 100 lbs. I don’t know the very specifics but I know she takes Atenolol.
I just need advice on how to gently tell her that her beloved dog and only companion was run over without her having a medical emergency or her health deteriorating.
She already blames herself that she left the door open and he ran out because he got scared of a noise.
She is already distressed and crying. Please any help

Physician Responded Processing my birth

Age: 23

Sex: female

When I was induced with my daughter it was extremely traumatic and we both almost died. Everything about the labor and delivery was terrible. I was in labor for 28 hours and when I pushed her out I hemorrhaged half of my blood volume. They put a "Jade?" in me after the doctor had to scoop out my placenta. My baby wasn't crying and I repeatedly asked why but within a blink of an eye 2 nurses became like 10 to start a second IV for a blood transfusion. I remember seeing horror all over my husbands face as they were resuscitating our baby. He told me that her cord was wrapped around her neck and she was purple. I was so out of it from the complicated labor, birth and 2 blood transfusions that I can't quite remember what they told me but she had to stay in the NICU because the oxygen in her brain was low. She also had a ring around her head that scabbed up that I assumed is where my uterus had squeezed her too tight or something.

Here we are 2 years later and my baby meets all her milestones physically but she's lacking a lot with her speech and language. We're starting speech and ot therapy ( OT bc she has sensory issues) I'm here wondering if the traumatic birth and lack of oxygen to her brain could've caused her speech delays? I've beaten myself up for a while because we constantly talk, read, and sing but it's like nothing helps. I also feel like my body failed us at birth. She has suspected autism (they have done an evaluation and they've recommended her to see another set of drs. I don't get all of it so I'm sorry for being vague) We have bought many toys to encourage talking (for ex: talking flash cards, talking/interactive books, etc) I've even tried Ms. Rachel and others of the like

*more pics of days 1-5 and drainage in comments\*

28F

5'4" x 130lbs x white

multiple abscesses(?) in left armpit, extreme pain/limiting mobility, most have drained at this point (night of day 8) yet hospital keeps telling me there is no fluid and refuses to drain or even re evaluate.

been progressing for 8 days

bactrim generic - sulfamethox-azole-tmp ds tablet 800mg (was given 20 pills) given 1 dose on day 5 and picked up script on day 7

also prescribed Keflex have not been able to fill that script - dr told me if I could only get one at first to get the bactrim picking up Keflex tomorrow

smoke cigarettes (pack a day)

iv heroin user (have always been super careful being a user bc ive seen so many people with abscesses and I had never had one until this and one that just healed)

^context^ I had got a burn from a cigarette on my back/inner thighs and It was in process of healing, I got arrested and was put in county jail where I developed my first 2 abscesses right above the healing burn they grew very fast and by day 2 or 3 in county the top one was so swollen/tight the head looked red/purple I asked for help they said I had to submit a sick call at this point my whole inner thigh was red/pink and very swollen and in a lot of pain. I sat on the toilet day 4 and it popped (and I didn't even sit on it!) it popped so hard I literally wiped up pus/blood all the way to the other wall/had gotten multiple drops all over the floor. Nurse came to see me when I asked to be seen he walked up looked at the open wound and said oh ive seen much worse you'll be fine and walked off- started antibiotics that night tho (unsure of what antibiotic it was) when that kept draining though for a while it was like black blood/pus my bunkie was swearing it was a spider bite due to that. I got out on day 6(only got 2 days of meds) pic of what it looked like once I got out. its now closed and I guess just scarring or the skin is still healing but yeah no open wound and been good for a while.

- so a few days after being released from jail (leg one was still open and had just started taking a turn for the better I bought a brand new razor (a kind I buy all the time) and it was first time using it but idk if the blade was messed up or something because when I shaved on the armpit pictures I felt it snag or cut a bunch of hairs I was like fuck Im gonna get ingrown hairs (I have sensitive skin and if I don't use a good shaving cream/oil or try to shave really fast I get ingrown hairs but nothing like HS just normal ones) honestly now I can't remember if I shaved my legs or pits first (im sure I would have logically don't my pit first but I just can't remember) but I didn't even shave that whole thigh with the abscess just the knee and calf. the next morning I had little bumps/looked like irritated hair pictured in day 1 photo. and it just got worse and worse till I realized it was not normal.

-I went to hospital the night of the 5th day bc they were getting super painful and I was walking around all day with my arm slightly raised due to swelling and pain when it touched . I was put in a bed immediately (it was very empty) nurse looked it over dr came saw me within 5 min examined it visually and physically and told me he's going to ultrasound them to see if there Is fluid that needs to be drained. the nurse brought me a dose of antibiotics, a Norco pain pill, and a torodol shot(?). he came back when she was done did the ultrasound and said only 1 needed to be drained and pointed to one of the ones that wasn't as swollen and hadn't been the most painful. I asked if he could check the one beside my skin tag because it was soft (like fluid) had been causing me the most pain that day and he said he would have been able to see if there was fluid in it.

-he numbed and lanced the one he mentioned and a lot of blood and pus poured out but I was worried he might have not inspected and/or cleaned out the inside of the cut enough. he didn't pack it . they put gauze out the outside and wrapped it to my shoulder.i was discharged within 1.5hrs of arriving and was complimenting how efficient they were

-I felt lied to bc within 20 minutes of leaving (im assuming from the pressure of the wrap?) I looked and the one I asked him to check again that had been painful popped and it had like green/white pus coming out and a pretty decent amount came out when I applied light pressure

-worried bc I read not to pop or squeeze yourself or infection could deepen so I left it alone but got scared when I took wrap off and my pit had like tripled in size (top right pic) pain and swelling increased and I went back to same hospital the next night

- that dr said I had MRSA even tho no cultures were taken, didn't touch/examine them except visually . said if we just made a bunch of incisions It would only cause it to spread. looked at who I saw last night and said he knows what he was talking about and told me to just get the bactrim first and Keflex when I could. gave me ibuprofen and discharged me. I was there max 15 min .

-well swelling and pain just kept getting worse an worse and they were all soft at this point so I was sure if I went somewhere else I would get help . So I went to a 3rd hospital trip 3 days in a row . Seen very fast again doctor comes in and looks at it and touched the large area up top (the outer edges of the lump were very hard but the heads were extremely soft) he said they werent drainable because they were hard as rock and only blood would come out . I said they're soft in the center and are you sure bc I was told on the one that was lanced had fluid and right after another one popped all on its own he said yes he was sure. I asked about the ones on lower half (bc he didn't even touch those) he said those don't even look ready just visually I said thats what the one he lanced resembled I said it was very small not as raised and he asked if anything came out and I informed him a big mixture of pus and blood came out...he still didn't feel the lower ones. at this point im crying bc I am in so much pain and I just felt helpless bc I can't take care of this alone and I felt like they didn't want to deal with it and/or just didn't care if I was ok. I also felt lied to since I kept being told they either didn't have fluid or couldn't/wouldnt drain but yet they kept draining and showed all signs of possibly containing fluid. I asked/begged him to do another ultrasound just to confirm there was no fluid.

he said he wasn't able to do ultrasound and that they normally don't do that for these that he couldn't believe they did at the first hospital. This time I got 2 Motrin and sent on my way in agonizing pain still with no help.

exprienced fatigue that whole day and fell asleep as soon as I got in bed woke up in the morning and when I went to look at it in the mirror I put light pressure to feel the top ones to see if they were soft or hard and one of the big top ones busted a lot of pus came out. I did feel relief at that release of pressure and since no one will help me I pushed the pocked with one finger to try to get out what I could without squeezing It hoping that would keep it from getting deeper.

while that one popped I guess that pressure caused the other beside it to pop and as I was just getting as much as I could out the one that had been lanced started oozing and then extremely large amounts of pus came out of that one. Are the connected ? I was wondering that based on how its those seperate heads but like one big lump up top under the skin. and how the pressure from poppuing one popped the others.

What should I do at home and how can I get someone to actually treat me ?!?!? or am I actually the one in the wrong one just overreacting . I don't feel like I am this is very scary to me but someone please tell me what this could be and what all I need to do,

I was given Vicks by a friend who said they would put it on their abscesses back in the day then tape gauze and leave it on I guess like a drawing salve and it will get it all out should I do that?

So I honestly don't even know what im dealing with here because cultures were never taken the one time they lanced one (right before top left pic) and never had any labs done. Also 1st hospital visit the nurse was like oh yeah those are accesses specific to women we see them all the time (after researching im assuming she means HS since it mainly affects women) but my 2nd trip the doctor (different doctor same er) came in and said I had MRSA and I looked confused and he said what no one told you??? like how have I not even been cultured/tested to even be given an accurate diagnosis?!?!?

Female 7 years old NSFW

Posting about my daughter. Female 7 years old. 95lbs, 4ft 6in tall.

Ok here's what's happening. Started last Friday she woke up with what we assumed was a classic stomach bug. Stayed home from school, throwing up and diarrhea. Running low grade fevers. Body aches. Last time throwing up was Saturday around 2pm. Nothing to eat since Thursday night.

Sunday did not eat anything still was complaining that her stomach hurt but drinking regularly.

Monday back to eating but not as normal. Would eat small amounts and then be done. Which was fine I figured there was a bit of anxiety surrounding eating considering how throwing up over the weekend. Monday night threw up once.

Tuesday she was fine. Complained about stomach pain a few times again assumed anxiety all things considering but kept food down and was eating more than monday.

Wednesday same thing. Complained a bit but eating more. So much so she asked for McDonald's. Kept food down fine.

Now this morning. Wake up to her throwing up. I run to the bathroom she tells me her stomach hurts and she's unsure why she threw up. What she had thrown up was dinner from last night. Then she gags and I watched her throw up what looked like blood. It had red streaks and brown and was a different consistency than the rest of the vomit. I know I know dont Google symptoms but everything on Google says it was blood as well looked like coffee grounds so decided to take her to the children's hospital. The toilet picture was the first bit of throw up.

As I'm getting ready she says she needs to be sick again and throws up more brown but this time with stomach acid only. (Picture 2 the trash can)

Get to the children's hospital they dont know what's wrong and since they cant see her throw up they dont want to do further testing as they believed she was fine. No fever, no pain when pressing stomach. they give zofran and a popsicle and send us on our way.

Zofran does help. She has asked twice for something to eat since we've left the hospital this morning. She ate apple sauce and crackers around 11:30am and chicken noodle soup around 4pm.

6:30pm I check on her she's asleep. 10 minutes later she is up crying in pain that her stomach hurts. I did give her zofran as instructed at the hospital they said every 8 hours as needed. But I am at a total loss. She isn't herself. I'm extremely worried something else is going on. This is 6 days now of stomach pains and not really eating and I don't know what to do. So looking for advice on what to do at this point.

My son is having sleep issues what should i do?

• Upvotes

I (34F) has had zero issues with sleep, my only medical issue being chronic migranes and neck pain from a car accident. My son (13 AFAB , 5'6 , 130 lbs) is the opposite.)

Over the last 5 months his sleep schedule has consisted of episodes where he would go from sleeping 12+ hours to staying up 20+ hours multiple times a week on caffeine (i did not know that he has been drinking caffeine. He has only just told me of this issue now because he didn't want to go to the doctor again as he goes almost bi-monthly because of new things or joint/bone issues. The most recent visit we had with the doctor was for his swollen thyroid. They found 2 cysts on his thyroid but decided not to get a biopsy even though thyroid cancer runs in both sides of our family. Ever since then we haven't gone back to the doctor and he hasn't complained until now. His voice is raspier and he cannot sing as well as he used to be able to.)

Anyways He also told me he has been getting nighttime anxiety or paranoia about intruders and being afraid of his closet and under the bed again as well as being afraid of the dark. He said he has alarms set for every 1-2 hours throughout the night to make sure he doesn't have any nightmares and to check on the house to make sure there aren't any intruders.

He also has struggled with mental health issues in the past like eating disorders and self harm. What should i do in this situation and what could it possibly be?

I am a 22-year-old female and I don’t smoke nor do I drink.

I have been experiencing this pounding of nerves on my hand since last month several times a day. I am assuming it’s because of anxiety or stress but seeing it makes me even more stressed so i am not sure what to do about it.

persistent abdominal distention

Post image

-20F, 5’9, 123lbs

Hi, i’ve been diagnosed with/and struggled with chronic constipation for years. The last few months have been especially bad. Laxatives seem to be one of the only things that actually produce a bowel movement and while I have a meeting with a GI specialist scheduled, it isn’t for a while. A few days ago i realized i hadn’t had a bowel moment in a few days and my lower abdomen was slightly distended (for me that’s both normal and usually a sign to take laxative so that i can get things moving). Took a dose of dulcolax, nothing happened (i did have an episode of vomiting), didn’t stress too much though. waited 24+ hours, took milk of magnesia. still, nothing. waited about 14 hours after before i used a fleet enema, which left me with a very small, basically water bowel movement (nothing solid, straight water consistency). i wake up the next morning and my abdomen is even more distended which was concerning (looked very similar to the photo). Took colace (the 2-in-1, 6-12 hour version) and waited. nothing. went to the ER because at this point my abdomen was severely distended and for the first time, painful to touch which has never happened in all my years of constipation. I go to the ER, they give me lactulose, mineral enema, senna, and magnesium citrate. the mineral enema was the only one to produce a small, very watery amount of stool (similar amount to the fleet enema, so next to nothing). i get sent home, i get desperate and decide to do the colonoscopy prep method which has worked the one other time i was just not having bowel movements at all. i get through about half the mirilax/gatorade mix and fall asleep, wake up vomiting and go back to the ER. i get fluids and a CT scan, which shows no blockage or impaction. no concerns with the rest of my body either according to the CT. this is a picture of me from about 5 mins ago (CT scan was yesterday). i know it’s easy to think this is just a bad case of constipation, which especially makes sense with my medical history but it has NEVER been like this in my 20 years of this stupid diagnosis (in both size, duration of distention, painful to the touch, and the only water-consistency bowel movements). i’m open to literally any suggestion of what this is/how to get it out. the ER recommendation was to just keep pushing excessive amounts of laxatives but im so nauseous that i just am so hesitant to right now

EDIT: wanted to clarify that this distention (in the photo) is NOT the normal distention i talk about towards the beginning of the post when i first took the dulcolax after a few days with no bowel movement, usually it is probably 15% of the size it is now which is why this was so bizarre.

Worried about the skin on my palms

I'm 22M, 60kg (approx), 5'8" and the skin on my palms is really soft.

Everyone else seems to have thicker & tougher skin in the palms but mine are soft & squishy. It's a problem in the gym since the rough texture of the dumbbells handle really sting.

I also sweat a lot from my palms & I mean excessive non stop sweating. It's very embarrassing since sometimes I look like I washed my hands but it's just sweat.

Am I doomed to have sweaty baby boy pussy hands forever? Any solutions are welcome

Physician Responded i’m in a lot of pain and i don’t know how to handle it

hey! 23F here, i’m around 5’3 and 110lbs. i also have epilepsy and im medicated for it!

about 3 weeks ago i had surgery (surgical abortion to be specific) and that left some tissue. it’s caused me massive amounts of pain, i’m talking chest pain, head, lower back, right ovary, appendix area.

i’ve taken painkillers, those aren’t working, ive eaten, drank water, rested but nothing is working. so i admitted myself to hospital, the pain has done nothing but gotten worse. i now have pain on my leg and im struggling to even put it down. imagine getting your blood pressure taken but your whole right leg.

im having other symptoms, ive talked to nurses, taken painkillers that aren’t working. i keep almost passing out.

i have no idea how to handle this. the pain keeps getting worse and worse, the hospital gave me endone that didn’t work, i’ve had panadol that also didn’t work

Physician Responded Is this doctor as insane as I think 50sF

My mother started seeing a hormone doctor (from what I understand they are not an endocrinologist but a family doctor who went private and now labels themself as a hormone specialist) for her menopause symptoms. She’s in progesterone, estrogen and testosterone which is all fine and good. Then she was telling me about how lately she feels really weird, rapid heart rate, weight loss, pressure behind her eyes, hot flashes. I found out the doctor prescribed her a “thyroid complex”, she has no idea what’s in it but is it a prescription pill she picks up fron a compounding pharmacy.. Anyways she has never had thyroid problems before she said her blood work is always fine and normal. The physician she is seeing prescribed this mysterious “thyroid complex” to boost her energy and metabolism. The doctor also said that if she goes for blood work with any other doctor she should discontinue the pill for 4 weeks as if she doesn’t her blood work will come back abnormal, and “they won’t understand what I am doing to you”. Now I am a nuc med tech so I know my way around some thyroid hormones, I also recognize the symptoms of hyperthyroidism. I told her a lot of her symptoms seem to sound like hyperthyroidism but she should discuss this with a different physician. Is this “hormone doctor” insane or is there evidence that thyroid hormones can help menopause symptoms? I’d love to hear professional opinions and if an endocrinologist could reach out that would be amazing!

50sF 160cm not sure how much she weighs but definitely a healthy amount

Husband recently noticed this on his leg. It’s extremely itchy. Has hydrocortisone cream on it now. Wondering what it is. Hes 51 years old. No medications. Smokes a cigar or two a week.
