Resource recommendations please!

Hi all, I’m looking for advice and/or resources. I don’t want this to sound like one of those scammy posts but I do need help. I’m a regular lower middle class mom with a full time job. I’m so stressed about money and the upcoming holidays that I can’t think about it without crying. I’m not low income enough to qualify for any formal assistance but I am low income enough to have a maxed out credit card and have to sell items on marketplace to buy groceries with cash. What I’m asking is, are there any food banks, free meals, Christmas present assistance programs that you all know about? We’re not going to get evicted, but we are living on oatmeal and I could really just use some help. Please DM me if uncomfortable posting a resource.

Edit: thank you everybody 🙏

On October 15, Gateway Grand Prairie has a drive thru food pantry from 7 am til noon. No questions asked, just get there early.

Mission Arlington will most likely do a toy drive in November or December! There is also a little free pantry with food at the welcome table church, it’s available for anyone to use

This food bank is next to the Walmart/Sam’s on Eastchase (it’s technically on John t. White)

Mission Arlington has a great toy drive they host where people can pick out 2 or 3 gifts per child. If you bring your kids, they let them pick out something for the parents too, I believe. Mission Arlington also, offers many other resources. Please contact them tomorrow.

Here’s a drive through food pantry called revive at the Adventist church off the 20 service road twice a month https://mailchi.mp/arlingtonadventist/revive-member-news-september-2026-2nd-edition Edit: there’s another one at another Adventist church every Monday but I’m having trouble googling it. It’s the church at Matlock by the vacuum cleaner store. I’ll update if I find it. I drove a friend there about a year ago. I’ll ask her and edit.

It’s on Cooper, I think they have a sign out front that tells you when the food bank is open.

Mission Arlington is fanatic for things just like this. Please go by or call them. They have medical, dental, clothes, food, furniture/housewares, and closer to Christmas they will have a Christmas store (free things to those needing help). They also do thanksgiving meals and can help with bills sometimes too. They are a wonderful organization. Please contact them!
