I did not get the logs of the whole for the flight but I managed to take a screenshot on ADS-B and the flight disappeared after I took the Screenshot. I took the screenshot around 1:45 PM est In case to get the flight logs.

After two years, I finally made it back to Area 51! This time, we drove all the way from Lone Pine to Tonopah, spending the night there.
Before stopping in Rachel, we headed straight to the Back Gate. As soon as we got out of the car, we were greeted by a long blast from their horn, even though we were still pretty far away! 😂 We didn’t want to push our luck or bother them too much, so we decided to leave and head over to the Little A’Le’Inn, only to find out it was closed. What a pity!
After that, we made our way to the Alien Center, which was also closed. Apparently, we weren’t having much luck.
I didn’t see any air activity this time around, but honestly, the feeling was still exactly the same.

So yeah… I guess I’ll just have to come back again to finally get myself a hot dog! 🌭👽

I fired up adsbx to see if the Janets were flying after their day off yesterday due to the federal holiday. I spotted two planes at KTPH, one being the regular Ameriflight cargo plane. The other being a PC-12.

Someone booked a charter from Palo Alto to Tonopah. Well interesting. But the fun thing is this charter has a dead leg booking page. If you were in Tonopah and needed a flight to Camarillo, today was your lucky day.

Technically two dead legs to service this customer. The company had to fly a dead leg to Palo Alto, fly to Tonopah, then back to their Camarillo base. I'm guessing the customer paid $4k+ for their Palo Alto to Tonopah flight.

The date change is due to Zulu time. The beacon was turned off at 2:33PM then back on at 5:22PM. Note the unusual altitude around 28kft.

I used the replay mode and no other plane showed up.

I'm sure these won't be used on NTTR tourists. ;-) Nellis is buying the works (thermal).

Note the proprietary frequencies. I doubt there is anything to demodulate due to encryption but you can look for their operation. The dual Pluto SDRs on AliExpress can scan 60MHz at a time with Tezuka firmware. You can at least see if the drone is in use. (SIGINT. Always be collecting.)

The Department of War announced the directed-energy systems selected following the Joint Interagency Task Force 401's (JIATF-401) counter-unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) directed energy pilot program, marking the next phase of efforts to expand the operational use of high-energy laser (HEL) and high-powered microwave (HPM) capabilities across the homeland.

Systems selected for the pilot include:

Epirus Leonidas High-Powered Microwave system
Kord Firefly High-Energy Laser system
Boeing Compact Laser Weapon system

"High-energy lasers and high-powered microwave systems are tools that can be effectively used in a layered drone defense," said U.S. Army Brig. Gen. Matt Ross, director of JIATF 401. "This pilot program will test these capabilities in an operational environment so we can understand how best to integrate and sustain them to defend the homeland."

Directed by the Fiscal Year 2026 National Defense Authorization Act, the pilot will evaluate these systems' performance providing real-time data and feedback on the systems' requirements, costs, and best practices.

JIATF-401 is conducting this pilot program in close coordination with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), U.S. Northern Command and the Services. Earlier this year, JIATF-401 partnered with the FAA to conduct a safety risk assessment during a live-fire HEL demonstration at White Sands Missile Range, New Mexico. As a result of this testing, the FAA determined that the system posed minimal risk to the National Airspace System and established a framework for continued coordination.

"There is no silver bullet, or one size fits all solution to countering the threat of drones," Ross said. "Directed energy gives commanders another option within a layered defense, complementing existing counter-UAS capabilities with a scalable, safe, and effective way to respond to drone threats. This pilot program will give us vital information in a real-world environment so we can employ these systems to protect the homeland."

While these systems represent the first capabilities selected for the pilot program, the DoW and JIATF-401 will continue to evaluate additional directed-energy technologies.
