Arc’teryx Nia Pant Question

I can’t find a certain answer, but anyone who owns the Nia pant, does it have ankle cinches? I really enjoy my gamma soft shell and was wondering if it has cinches down low since I get really cold and could use the wind protection. Thank you

how long do you wear your hiking shoes?

Hi,

How does one know when your hiking shoes -- like the Kopec for example--- are worn out?

I have been using these, and the Aerios beforehand, for quite some time. I am wondering how long people continue to use them before they decide they are done, what is the determining factor in your decision? is it the little lugs on the sole being worn down or something else? just curious.

thanks

There are quite a few new products dropped into the Outlet section. Interestingly, some very new stuff as well, for example, the Granville 25 backpack in the new Dark Jade color that was just released.

Mislabeled size Veilance cap?

I have a big head. When they first came out, I bought a Veilance bucket hat in L/XL. It fits great. So when I saw the new Dynode cap, I ordered one in L/XL. It fit like a fez on a wind up monkey toy.

I roughly measured the circumference of the interior of the cap and I got 54.5 cm, which would put it in the range of an S/M. And that’s with the maximum extension of the backstrap, which is barely an inch. The L/XL is supposed to fit a 60cm circumference, according to the Arcteryx size guide.

So I called an Arcteryx store and got a very helpful young fella who happens to have a very similar sized head to me, and also said that the Veilance hats never fit him well. He grabbed a Dynode L/XL off of the floor and tried it on and said it fit well.

His conclusion, although he said he’s never seen it with hats, is that there are occasional mislabelings of sizes.

So I got a return label and immediately ordered another one. I’m a little concerned that since I bought it so quickly after the previous one that it’s gonna come from the same batch in the warehouse and I hope I don’t get another S/M.

Anyone else have a Dynode that was/wasn’t true to size?

Tailoring Goretex Pants?

Might be a stupid question but I bought the Incendia pants in the short version but unfortunately it’s still long on me. Is there a way to get it tailored? Could Arc’teryx take it in?

Thanks!

Best lightweight GTX for leisure and hiking in Denmark?

In Denmark temperatures are generally not low when it rains (range of 5-25 celsius). What lightweight GTX should I get? Read the Beta SL might be to warm?

Whats the point of Sperro SV?

If the focal point was to introduce new techniques and Philosophy of sustainability/recycling/repairability why not just implement them in the existing main stay shells?

Why make a 1200 usd shell that does not introduce anything substantial ?

My patience us being tested so much in the last year by arcteryx

I can believe im still on board tbh

Arc one no longer produces alpha av :(

Post image
58 Upvotes

Starting this 26FW drop Arc’teryx will no longer be producing alpha sv at the Arc One Vancouver facility.

They used to produce limited editions in there. Not anymore

Now they only produce the new sperrow SV and some selective Pro gears.

Fun fact. Chinese made Alpha sv is technically 50g heavier than Canadian made

Edit. Forgot to mention this ONLY apply to NA markets, everywhere else been getting the Chinese version since a while ago

Is the "new" Sidewinder Women-only?

I can only find the Sidewinder in Women's on the US site. Are they going to release a Men's version? Is it only a women's garment? A bit new to arcteryx so not sure what the situation with it was 20 or so years ago. Looks absolutely fire and I want one as a dude

Looking to upgrade my regular Beta jacket. Should I get the SL or AR?

I’ve had my regular beta jacket for a couple years now and its done me well on travels, ski trips, hikes and backpacking trips.

Since it’s the more minimal entry level model, I’m now looking to upgrade it to a newer beta with a bit more features, zips and bigger hood — and looking to branch out from having just a classic black Arcteryx shell. I’m quite torn on upgrading to either an SL or the AR.

Tried on the AR in the store and while its a great shell my main issue was that I felt like the drop hood collar was digging into my face too much fully zipped up. Really wish they had the original stormhood AR still. Otherwise, I like the features and how much beefier of a shell it is.

The SL is also another option i’m strongly considering. Quite like how much more packable it is and lighter than the two whilst still having the zips and bigger helmet hood. The issue I had with the SL is perhaps the nylon feeling a lot thinner than the other two Betas and durability is a concern if its a 40D/70D.

Does anyone else have two Betas? What’s the best combination to have? I don’t plan on selling my regular beta anytime soon — and still want to keep it on rotation but retire it to a more casual commuter jacket.

I ripped my Atom hoody first time wearing it 😭

I bought a brand-new Atom Hoody two days ago, and I was SO excited to wear it today. I removed the tags this morning, after only 30 minutes, I was pushed into a construction fence by accident and ripped the fabric in several places on the shoulder. I went to the store, and they offered to repair it with a large, visible patch. I initially agreed but am having second thoughts because I really don’t want a big ugly patch on a jacket I just bought. 😭

I contacted customer service to ask for a goodwill replacement, but I’m wondering if anyone here has had luck getting one for accidental damage so soon after purchase. I also bought a sentinel to go with it so it sucks because I didn’t even had the chance to wear them together yet.

Also, if they offer me a refund do you think I should exchange it for a Proton? I bought the Sentinel + Atom to go snowboarding in Canada, but I wanted to wear the underlayer alone for fall. TIA

Jacket for dutch winters

Hey guys, I'm looking at buying my first Arc'teryx jacket for the upcoming winter. I've looked at the Gamma MX hoody and the Beta jacket. The beta has gore Tex which is attractive but not necessary. The jacket has to be warm for our dutch winters.

What activities will you be doing with this equipment?
I'll be cycling to work (15 minutes both ways) and going to football training and also standing at the side of a football field for 2 hours at a time. So I want something that's warm, windproof and can handle some rain.

What climate will you use this gear in, and what weather do you commonly adventure in?
Our winters get kinda cold like around 0° for the coldest days in the year. I commonly cycle for 15 mins and stand in the rain for 1-2 hours at a time.

What are your personal characteristics? Do you run warm or cold? Do you prefer slim or loose fitting?
I don't really know how to answer both of these so I think I'm in between on both.

If anyone would like to help this new Arc'teryx customer / upcoming fan, I'd highly appreciate it!!

What’s the usage of Covert?

I tried it in office, looks good but not breathable enough and not easy to layer over a shirt(given the fleece inside), when I’m outside in a windy weather it’s not warm enough. Mine is a 2025 covert, is the 2026 version better in terms of breathability?

Best fleece for running?

Hey everyone!

I’m looking for a lightweight, highly breathable fleece for running in colder weather, including below freezing.

I tend to run pretty hot. I’ve previously been running in my Beta SL with a T-shirt and base layer underneath, but often end up overheating.

I’m looking for something that handles sweat really well, provides some warmth without overheating, and can be worn on its own or under my Beta SL when needed.

I’ve been considering the Delta 1/2 Zip Neck, but I’m curious if there are better options for high-output activities like running.

Any recommendations or personal experiences?

Thanks!

Delta vs. Kyanite vs. Covert Cardigan

Hi all!
I’m deciding between the Delta, Kyanite, and Covert Cardigan for everyday wear at work. I work in a clinic that can get pretty chilly, so I’m looking for something comfortable, warm, breathable, and professional looking without being too bulky.
Which would you recommend for this setting?
Thanks!

Beta AR? SL? The regular one? Patagonia? HELP.

Heading to Iceland in early/mid June next year and planning mostly day hikes (thinking trails like Fimmvörðuháls, Landmannalaugar area, maybe a guided glacier walk). Expecting 45–60°F, lots of wind and on-and-off rain. I'd also like this to be my do-everything shell back home in the northeast USA: fall/spring hiking, rainy days, and wearing it over layers in winter.

I've narrowed it down to Arc'teryx and I'm leaning toward the Beta AR, but I'm second-guessing:

- Beta AR ($650 list): GORE-TEX Pro, most durable, roomier fit for layering. Is it overkill/too warm for summer day hikes?

- Beta SL ($500): lightest, pit zips, trim fit. Durable enough for long-term use?

- Beta ($400): 80d face fabric, but no pit zips. Does that matter much in cool weather?

Also considered the Patagonia Torrentshell 3L and Granite Crest as cheaper options.

Questions:

  1. Which would you pick for my use case, and why?

  2. Anyone worn the AR in temps around 55–65°F? How sweaty does it get with pits open?

  3. Other ones I should consider? (I get that the Beta is expensive overkill probably, so let's put that one aside)

Sizing advice and thoughts on the Therme Parka or the Theme parka SV

Hi everyone! For context, I recently sold my Canada Goose Emory parka in a size Large because the fit was a little too snug for my liking. I’m now on the hunt for a replacement and have been seriously considering the Arc’teryx Therme Down Parka.
I’m 6’1”, around 185–190 lbs, with broad shoulders and long arms. I know Arc’teryx says the Therme runs large, but I have a hard time believing a Medium would fit me comfortably.
Does anyone have experience with this parka, particularly when it comes to sizing and overall fit? I’m also curious about warmth. My Canada Goose was incredibly warm, and I’m in NYC, where I’m mostly dealing with wet, windy, and downright nasty winter weather. I need something that offers serious protection from the elements.
I’ve also been trying to track down one of the longer Therme SV versions, but they seem nearly impossible to find.
Any advice, personal experience, or recommendations would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Squamish Use Case

Hi there, I was wondering if this is the perfect use case for the Squamish Hoody:

When I set out early in the summer to go mountain climbing and am still on the approach for several hours on the rocky, shaded side of the mountain (2,000 to 2,500 m / 6,500 to 8,200 ft), it's still too cold for a T-shirt but too warm for a fleece like the Delta Hoody. Especially when there's sometimes a light, cold breeze as well.

Would the Squamish Hoody be perfect for these conditions, or can I save my money?

Anyone know if Nuclei FL will return for FW26?

Basically as the title says, I’m looking to pick up a synthetic, static insulator and was wondering if the Nuclei FL would return this winter, or if I should look into used options vs other brands. Thanks!

FW27: Official country websites all have different products

So FW27 released on Friday and I noticed the different country websites all have different stuff.

Japan: Sidewinder has four different colors. No Strato or Rush at all.

https://arcteryx.jp/collections/mens-shell-jackets

US: Sidewinder had two colors on Friday but it’s completely gone today. No Rush. Strato with two colors. Sabre with two colors.

https://arcteryx.com/us/en/c/mens/shell-jackets/hardshell?intcmp=c-mens-shell-jackets_t2_c-mens-shell-jackets-hardshell

Norway: Rush available with three colors. Strato with two colors and Sabre with three colors. No Sidewinder.

https://arcteryx.com/no/en/c/mens/shell-jackets

Why is it so hard to get basic info on products on the official website?
