I don't freaking know how to do this and my teacher is so freaking incompetent didn't even explain anything to us and I'm genuinely gonna fail pls pls save me
So how do I measure this launch angle guys!

Hey, I am currently struggling in AP Physics 1 (I am testing on Dynamics and Newton's Laws tomorrow), and I feel like I am just not understanding the conceptual parts of each unit. Are there any website, sources, Youtubers, or any material that is highly valued and recommended. I am in a fairly large class so I feel like I don't get enough 1 on 1 time to review and understand what I am getting wrong on homework and quizzes, so ideally are there any sources that use AP level questions and explain the answer that doesn't have a cap?

Hi everyone! I'm a high school student offering tutoring for AP Physics 1. I earned a 5 on the AP exam and consistently scored in the high 90s in my AP Physics 1 class, which I found significantly more challenging than the actual AP exam last year.
My goal is to help students not only achieve top marks but also develop a genuine understanding of physics. I focus on connecting theoretical concepts to real exam-style problems, helping students build the critical thinking and problem-solving skills needed to succeed.
What I can help with:
Having experienced the challenges of AP Physics 1 myself, I understand what it takes to succeed in both the course and the exam.
If you're interested in tutoring or have any questions, feel free to message me!

I need to self-study at least one AP Physics C course. I already did AS Physics and am now taking A2 Physics.
If anyone knows both syllabi/content, please help me out 🙌🏻

The Capstan Problem — How Can Just 32 N Hold a 750 N Climber?
Here's an interesting physics challenge involving static friction, Newton's laws, and calculus.
A rope is wrapped around a fixed cylinder, supporting a 750 N climber. With a coefficient of static friction of 0.50 and a full (2\pi) radians of contact, how much force is actually needed to prevent the climber from slipping?
Surprisingly, the answer is only 32.4 N!
In my latest YouTube video, I work through the complete derivation of the Capstan Equation, starting with a free-body diagram of a tiny rope segment and using calculus to arrive at the result.
It's a great problem for AP Physics C and college physics students who enjoy seeing how mathematics explains real-world situations.

I’m building an AP Physics practice series covering:
15 AP-style MCQs on flight time, range, maximum height, and velocity.
Free-response problems with equations, calculations, and reasoning.
Examples including a drone releasing a package and a squirrel leaping between branches—with a comparison of 30° and 60° launches.
Try each question before watching the explanation!

Which part of projectile motion gives you the most trouble—choosing equations, resolving velocity into components, or understanding what happens at the highest point?

I've got a terrible teacher, a test this week, I've been studying for over 3 hours atp and yet I can still barely do the test review I got. Any resources, tips, practice tests, etc...?

Hi everyone,
I’m reaching out because I’m taking ap physics 1 this year but my teacher is not teaching at all—I mean 0. He just tells us to watch the ap classroom videos at home(which aren’t the best to learn from imo) and provides no instruction in class.
We’re finishing up unit 1 and I understand the material well, but mcqs and frqs are just so difficult. I know repeating practice problems is key to success in this class, but where do I have access to these if my teacher doesn’t open them on ap classroom?
Any tips or pieces of advice for how to succeed in this class would be greatly appreciated.

I took unit 1 frq with the porjectile and the rings, but it was also posted online with a answer key. So I was wondering what you guys had for unit 2 if you guys already took it and what did you guys have. Anything will help.

Newton’s laws, free-body diagrams, friction, or inclined planes?
Curious to see what most people struggle with 👀

hi! for reference, im a senior thats an aspiring bme major. im taking c mech with no calc bg (im taking calc bc rn) and no physics bg. naturally i expected it to be very hard and was ready to put the work in for it, but i didnt expect it to be THIS hard, nor for my effort to be THIS useless, in the long run.
we did unit 2 (dynamics) first, and i got a literal 21% raw, 51% with the curve. i thought i was just stupid, but his own p1 students from the year before (now in c mech with me) were getting 30-40's as well. regardless, i was very determined to do well on unit 1, especially bc another 20-30% curve was expected (per his words) on the unit 1 test.
so im doing the worksheets, labs, reviews, etc, and every assignment is relatively simple to complete. i even got an 80 raw on the practice test for unit 1. the issue is that the practice test, assignments, NOTHING he gives us, is equivalent to the real test rigor wise. i learned the night before the test (yesterday) that he apparently makes our tests using the MIT ver. of C:Mech to make the ap exam feel like a breeze (which i can confirm works, bc our assignments are almost always previous collegeboard frqs and theyre a cake walk).
today i took the unit 1 exam.. the mcqs were manageable conceptually and mathematically, but the frqs were fucking awful. the 2 frqs on the practice test were both 3 parts and all conceptual. the frqs we were given as assignments all asked the same thing (max height, total time, voy and vox). however, the frqs on the real thing were 5-6 parts each, nearly all calculus/mathematical, were far more advanced conceptually than we ever discussed, and left out WAY more details than our practice assignments did. he also threw experimental design on there which no one expected bc he didnt mention it as a concept on our test (nor has even brought up experimental design since early september). each frq was about 4-5 pages f2b in length on the real thing.
aside from needing to study the MIT version of C:Mech to pass this class, are there any other resources out there that will help me succeed in his class? we follow a quarter system and depending in my score i could be stuck with a C for the quarter which really makes me nervous, esp for my major of choice. this class in general makes me think bme is not for me tbh 😭 im just nervous for whats to come, i cant drop the class, and i WANT to do better in it, but i genuinely do not know how.

For anyone who completely self-studied AP Physics C:Mechanics on their own without a tutor or a class and got a 5, what are the resources and methods you used to study? And how difficult was it to understand the material on your own?
