I believe that the production balance in anno 117 is too imbalanced.
It seems to me that the productivity of wheat and oat fields should be reduced by three times, while at the same time increasing the productivity of large processing facilities such as dyeing plants.
In the later stages of the game, the ratio of the area of various processing facilities to the area of fields looks too unbalanced!
Well, damn, lavender plantations are so annoying—or rather, the area they require is just some kind of nonsense!!
While scouting Zara Nitu I suddenly noticed am amphitheater foundation. I hadn't seen that before with NPCs so I decided to keep her alive to see if she could finish it. Many hours later (it took her longer than just normal player build times), she did indeed complete the Amphitheater!
Wonder if NPCs can construct an hippodrome too and if yes, if we can challenge them instead!
Hey everyone, I have started and stopped so many saves because I hate the way they look and am finally in a spot with a save where I feel it looks beautiful and organic. I am sure there are better out there, but am so proud of this one.

I was wondering why I kept overproducing pigs . Not that it is a bad thing, put I was puzzled that my pig farms at 300% were producing 2x3=8??? Pigs.
Silos are not just doubling the production of otherwise unboosted animal farms it is multiplying it by (100%+100%)×(1+1/3)=2.60 (so equivalent to a farm at 260% not 200%)
And the effect of extra produced goods scales with productivity so a farm at already 200% before silos is equivalent to a farm at (200%+100%)×(1+1/3)=400% after the silo is added.

I would like to see the following changes to the production balance:
Wheat and oat fields — production of 1 item per 3 minutes (in Egypt — per 2 minutes); the size of wheat fields with Ceres’ buff should be 270 cells.
I would also like the developers to add some fruit farms.
Lavender plantation — production of 1 item per minute. Size — 210, with a buff from Ceres.
The weaving factory and dyeing workshop — production of 1 item every 30 seconds
. It would also be desirable to add some positive effect related to the weaving factory.
The glass melting workshop and the glassblowing workshop — production of 1 item per minute for both enterprises.
The workshop for stuffing pillows — production of 1 item every 45 seconds.
The furniture workshop — 1 item per minute.
Sandarac grove — 1 item in 45 seconds.
Sign‑making workshop — 1 item per minute.
Vineyard — 1 item per minute.
Winery — 1 item in 30 seconds.
A workshop for making sandals — one item per minute.
Fibularia — 1 item per minute.
Narcissus — 1 item per minute.
Supplier of bird’s tongues — 1 item per minute.
Cheese factory — 1 item per minute.
The cow pen should be given the opportunity to add silage barns.
A workshop for making chariots — 1 item per minute.
A workshop for making frames — 1 product in 45 seconds.
Hunter’s Hut — 1 item per minute.
Barley field — 1 item in 3 minutes. Field size: 210 cells with a boost from Ceres.
I would also like to have some kind of food that requires barley for its production—for example, barley porridge with the addition of cow’s butter.

Found the description for Dawn of the Delta was rewritten and some new details were added... It mentions us investigating the death of a celebrity and a new unity? Thoughts?

I checked out my savegames and it looks like my fastest time was 3 hours and 30 minutes before i went to Albion. In my most recent game, Zara Nitu actually got to Albion before me and Athr already took two of the largest islands, leaving me with a rather small Albionic capital.
What are your record times? I feel like times under 3 hours should be possible, but you want to have an economic base to actually buy an island or three, right?

I often want to play Anno 1404 but am missing the production calculator of 1800 a lot. So I made one on my own. It's all in-game and open-source. This is my first release so I'm happy to get some feedback on Design, Usability or Bugs. Enjoy!

SOLVED: Seemed to be a bug. Reinstalling did the trick.
Hey guys, new to this sub and to Anno (117) as a whole. Sorry if the answer to my question is painfully obvious.
I have played through the campaign without encountering this problem.
Now that I am playing in Endless, I have stumbled upon something annoying. Suddenly I cannot select any research nodes anymore. I generate 2564 Knowledge in Latium. Have managed to research 4 nodes in Economic, 3 in Civic and 13 in Military. Suddenly, i cannot select them anymore.
I figured it was a bug, so I started over. As soon as I unlocked research (180 knowledge generated), I tried again. This time I am unable to research any nodes at all.
I have been enjoying the game, but this is quite a buzzkill.
Anyone has advice?

I’m back do you guys think this is enough ships for invasions? It’s about 155 ships with 7 civilian ships with 7 cargo slots for troops. Only costs about 18k upkeep as well and around 7K workforce

Her Island-wide effect should give also the Amptheatre and the Hippdrome +1 population, not just the gambling house, right?
After placing her into an officum all the gambling houses get +1 population but the AT and the HD dont.
Any thoughts?

Many games have been released since then, and although I'm not a fan of the series, I'd like to start trying city builders with Anno. The thing is, I only buy games from GOG because of their anti-DRM policies, but they only have Anno 1404: Gold Edition, Anno 1503 A.D., Anno 1602 A.D., Anno 1701 A.D. And a bundle offer that includes the above-mentioned items at a discount. So are any of those older Anno games still worth playing, or are they too outdated?

This specialist is hilarious.
You don't need him, but to see your storage doubling and all your production in all regions starts running again, is a lot of fun.

Why is it that Anno 117 has literally no recent content of good layouts, fun playthroughs, etc. on YouTube to watch? I feel like the other Anno titles have a plethora of content but for some reason Anno 117 has nothing more recent than 10 months ago. Why is that?
Hi all,
A while ago I released Roman Life - Latium. Parts 2 and 3 are out now.
Roman Life - Albion adds 33 new needs for your Albion citizens, each with its own production chain. There are 32 new specialists, from Common to Heroic, and a new coastal fertility for Crabs- for that, you need to either make use of one of two new specialists to provide fertility, or start a new game.
Roman Life - Imperial Blends adds 16 needs whose chains cross both regions, like an Albion raw good going into a Latium kitchen or the other way round. Trojan Pig, Stolae, Silver Plate and Pearl Pendants are some of them. It has 23 specialists and needs both Latium and Albion packages installed.
A few things to know:
- You don't need a new game, it works just fine with existing saves
- If you don't like a chain, switch it off in the mod options (Taludas' Mod Manager, Tweaking tab).
- Upgrade thresholds are higher, since there are a lot more needs now- for Albion, you can also disable it in Mod Manager, or delete submod folder
- My older standalone mods (Apple Cider, Bog Butter, Spiced Mead, Dormice in Honey and more) are included. You can unsubscribe from them and your saves will still load. Bog butter is now updated to require milk from new Cow Pasture.
- Feedback and bug reports are very welcome.

Didn't think this would happen; I started with a goal of 300k before the two expansions, that became 500k, then 600k, and now I'm at 1 million. I've run out of space though, so this is it for now. I got up to 294k citizens in Cinis, with another 319k in the four huge central islands. 825k patricians in total. If you go up the volcano and look back, you can see almost all of Cinis in one view; it's incredible.
About the game set-up: standard map, I got myself all the items I needed first, including the governor specialists (this was before the changes to prestige, hated having to spend dozens of hours refreshing lootbox offerings at NPC harbors before I could get the items I needed). Actually building this empire was hard and time-consuming enough. The workforce-reducing legendary captain and the Macrobius guy were the most important ones to make this work.
I supply Latium residents with all population increasing needs apart from soap. I also didn't use any gambling houses on my islands. The togas chain was probably the most painful one (I have one huge and another large island dedicated to Minerva to make that work; maybe not optimal). The overwhelming majority of patricians also have either chariots or lyres to enjoy. I built four hippodromes and ten amphitheatres (maybe could've gone to 5/6 & 11/12). I have quite a few heroic specialists, but not all of them, so that could help me gain at least 15k or more citizens (not sure). Crazy run, hundreds of hours (have never attempted anything like this before, closest was three megacities in Anno 2070). Love this game, looking forward to Dawn of the Delta!

Is there any advantage to the diplomacy route?
I’m thinking of cutting the sacred tree/grove to get access to the mines. Then making her brother my specialist. At this point all diplomacy choices are done and giving her a gift won’t bring her back to positive relationship status. Was there any meaningful reward from taking the peaceful approach?
