šŸ“ Discussion Jo Adell moving on!

So happy for Jo Adell, who more than deserves this. Good for him. I'm on the bandwagon.

I could do with a little less of the "he's been sitting on the sidelines every October in Anaheim and gets his first shot at the postseason after his long suffering years with the Angels" they've got going at least once a game, but I'm looking forward to rooting for him.

I’m just so happy for him and the Guardians! Tonight’s game was SOOOO FUCKING GOOD! Ramirez is just soo fun to watch. I really hope they can take the Rays out and make it to the World Series!

I really like Ramirez and he's been very good for a long time, I would also be happy for him if he won.

I told my wife that Ramirez is Cleveland’s Mike Trout.

Whoever won this game, I was going to be happy for. I’ll admit, I’m a little extra giddy for Adell. I hope he goes all the way.

I'm with you. I have nothing against either team and would have been happy if either team won. The White Sox were a great story. But the Guardians have plenty of reasons to root for them too.

i’ve enjoyed the ā€˜Jo adell sitting on the sidelines not going to the postseason’ which totally washes over the relationship that the Angels have had with him. the VAST majority of the time he’s been with angels he was teetering between AAA and MLB quality. this is absolutely NOT a player waiting on the sidelines during the postseason. this is a guy who basically had to grind for his position on the team every fuckin year and then it only JUST started to pan out.

my frustration with the Adell situation is that we traded him just when our like 8 years of development with him started to become fruitful.

anyways, i agree with the sentiment of the post. i’m rooting for him too. have enjoyed watching him make an impact with the Guardians.

Very true… and it we got a minor league catcher in return?? They must of seen depreciating returns for keeping Adell. Makes zero sense. Mby he asked for a trade

Tradable asset. Interim gm wanted to do a massive rebuild. While I know others disagree I am one of those that felt the return was a little light. I know there will be many responses telling me why I am crazy for thinking that but it was a seller's market and I still think we could have gotten a little more. Still Cozart is looking very promising. Hopefully he, and many of the other prospects we acquired, will pan out.

i understand the argument that when players are hot, you can get value of out them. it logically makes sense. i usually just don’t like the argument.

I hated the value we got in return, but the GM recognized we’re not gonna be able to sign him. Adell is a FA and expected to test the market this summer. We’re just in no position to pay what he is worth, at least before the ownership change. Now? I’d say Cleveland has an outside chance, and the new Angels ownership can at least decide if they want to put in a fair offer even if it goes nowhere.

We panned out because another org did a better job. If we kept him then….

They traded the Jo Show to make room in the outfield for Lowe, obviously.

I think the Cleveland bats have finally woken up., If they get the WS call me crazy but I like their chances. They took 2.of 3 from the dodgers and beat Yamamoto and Saski.

Braves took 5 of 6 vs Dodgers in regular season too. That shit does not matter..

Maybe the Miz and the Brew Crew can knock out the Dodgers before they can even get that far.

May be Jo vs Sho finale.

Aw man, I’m real happy for Jo, but I’m also sad because I was rooting hard for the Sox for the AL. But good for Jo!

Let's go Jo!!!

Hell yeah Jo. Honestly, Cleveland fans chanting let’s go Jo has to really gas him up! I hope he bring them to the promised land.

chicago really choked that shit.

Up 2-0 in a best of five with the next two at home. I don't know how they lost. TWENTY-ONE STRIKEOUTS in the winner take all game. They only put NINE balls in play all game. They were no hit for five innings. An absolute trainwreck.

u/Fluffy_Voice953 4d ago

His numbers are up with the Guardians and I've seen him take at bats he would have never done with the Halos. More disciplined not chasing the slider away

5

u/Wrong-Astronomer7104 4d ago

Yes Jo!!!! So happy for him and happy to root for him.

The rhetoric about any angles player finally being in the postseason will, and should, continue until the angels make the postseason.

3

u/Ok-Wind3215 4d ago

I mean sure, but it's just a lot night after night all week.

7

u/PearlDrummer 22 4d ago

And every second of it is deserved and Arte should never have a day where he doesn’t hear about how terrible of an owner he was. The only time that kind of talk should stop is when the angels are good again.

There's videos online of people asking (Alexa I think) who won the 2026 world series and it says the Dodgers beat the Guardians.

The 7th circle of hell.

I actually think a MIL/TB matchup is way more likely.

Guards are my dads team so they’re the team I root for when the Angels are eliminated

Happy for any player who escapes this poverty franchise.

The Jo glazing on this sub is wild 🤣

I'm happy to see Adell and Soriano playing in the play-off games, and will be next season too. If they are still with Angels, no chance to play in the play-off. Angels are at least four more years to go to the play-off. Have to wait till Trout retired and finish the installment payments of Rendon's 2026 salary. The roster would be totally different, probably none of the current rosters are there.

u/ufomadeinusa 3d ago

Good for him, another player to show Trout whats its like to leave Anaheim.

Except our asses got whooped by the entire league the whole season not in a playoff game so its not the same thing at all. Rooting for a team with a popular player from your franchise when you arent even close to contention is a super normal thing to do if you dont have a stick up your ass

11

u/Ok-Wind3215 4d ago

Who would you rather root for? The literal Dodgers?
