❓Question/Suggestions Were the Thundersticks only given out to every fan during the 2002 playoff run?

With it being this time of year, I always go back and watch highlights of the Angels playoff runs during the 2000s, since I was either way too young to remember or not even alive during these runs, I got a lot of questions. The first one, obviously the thundersticks were a staple of the 2002 run, and they seemed prominent in the following years, but not to the level they were in 2002. Did the org just stop handing them out to every fan during home playoff games after 2002? Was there even any distribution of them during the other playoff runs in the decade?

They were used because they were cheaper than rally towels. (Remember this was under Disney)

And they made way more noise than a towel. I still have mine.

They gave them out before the playoffs too I believe. They might have been cheap but they were perfect, the noise was deafening. I remember a team or two complained about them.

Our last good year C': my birth into adulthood... Really reiterates how life is a b... Just like our Angels' seasons

I was there. I consider myself privileged to say that I’ve seen Mike Trout play in a playoff game in person.

These things pique my interest because you look around at these other teams during October, and they have the same, bland rally towels. the Angels seem to be the only team that actually have something unique in this regard and when we do eventually make it back, in my eyes it would be inexcusable to not have a stadium wide distribution for every home playoff game.

Yes I got them in 2005. and 2009 I can’t recall for sure but I think they were still present.

I still have about 10 unopened packs of them. Gonna bust em out when we get back to the playoffs! The sound of that stadium, with tens of thousands of us wailing on those things... unforgettable.

Thundersticks became a thing that summer during the World Cup.

It was pretty hip of the Angels to give them away to fans during their WS run.

They were South Korea's version of the vuvuzela that had its own spotlight during the 2010 World Cup.

I think all of us hope the sticks will make a comeback.

I just remember that lady smacking the right fielder with them on a play down the line

lol the angels haven’t made the playoffs in so long ppl are asking this. They were given out every playoff game this century except for 2008 I think they gave these stupid foldable cardboard noise makers where you slap it on your hand and it was like a foldable fan that was dumb and thankfully the sticks were back

When I was at a random game in 2013 they were giving thunder sticks away at the trout farm and I have them still in storage

I went to Game One of our 2014 Playoff series against the Royals. I remember getting something like Thundersticks, but I can't be 100% sure if they were thundersticks.

They still gave them out well after the 2002 season.

They were given out for playoff games.

There's your problem.
