Question Android devs, what tool do you wish existed but doesn't?

I’m looking to build something free and open source for the Android dev community.

What’s one tool you wish existed, or something that constantly annoys you during development?

Would love to hear your ideas and actually build something useful!

I wish there was a tool that deleted posts by people with <word>-<word>-<4 numbers> usernames and hidden histories.

Lolll, fair enough 😂 But I’m trying to build tools, not delete myself from Reddit.

honestly a decent way to diff two play console crash clusters would save me hours. half the time the same ANR shows up as like five separate issues and you only find out after digging

I wish there was a simple tool that checks your app against Play Store policy before you submit. A lot of apps get rejected or flagged over small things like missing privacy policy details, wrong permission declarations, or Data Safety form mismatches, and you only find out after waiting days for the review. A free pre-check that scans the manifest and flags likely problems would save a lot of time, especially for solo devs.

If I figure that one out, I’m definitely not open sourcing it :)))

So much for giving back hey

Whatever you give back will just show up in Gemini or Claude anyway.

Use your own voice when writing. Posts and comments which appear to be generated, including those with excessive flourish, gushing or emojis, will be removed.

A Play Console release-health dashboard that tells you in plain language why your rollout is failing, instead of making you decode five different dashboards. Every release week I lose hours cross-referencing crash rates, ANR trends, and review flags across tabs. The data is all there, the synthesis is the missing tool. If you build one thing, build the thing that answers should I halt this rollout in one screen. What annoys you most: release monitoring or build tooling?

Meanwhile they are plotting to do the same thing with the development team

A toll that doesn't let you use color codes in the code but only in the values/colors xml!!!
