I am from Vijayawada. Today, I randomly wondered how Lakireddy Bali Reddy's name came to be associated with a college. I had no idea who this man even was.

What I found was horrifying.

In 2001, this man pleaded guilty in the US to crimes involving the sexual exploitation of minor Indian girls, immigration fraud and tax fraud. He was sentenced to 97 months in prison and ordered to pay $2 million in restitution.

According to the US Department of Justice, the investigation found that he arranged for a 13-year-old Indian girl to be brought to the US for sexual relations with him. Two girls were also found unconscious in one of his apartments in 1999. One died from carbon monoxide poisoning.

And this is the same man whose name is associated with an engineering college and philanthropy in Andhra Pradesh.

I am not saying nobody reported this in 2001. But why is this history so difficult to come across today? Why is his public legacy still associated with philanthropy while so few people seem to discuss the crimes he pleaded guilty to?

Does money, caste and local influence affect whose history we remember and whose we conveniently forget?

I recently finished reading కల్పితం - నిశ్శబ్దలా సాక్షిగా, and I’m genuinely amazed and happy to see what the author has created at such a young age.

What struck me the most was the depth of the characters. Surya, Sandhya, Arun, Kiran and the others are not just names in the story—they each have their own emotions, struggles and layers. The way the characters have been conceived and named itself deserves appreciation.

I also loved the letters and diary elements in the story. They brought back memories of those days when letters carried so much emotion, anticipation and personal connection. There is a lovely nostalgic feeling throughout those portions.

Another thing I really liked was the cover design. It is remarkably apt for the story and almost feels like a visual representation of its soul—with elements of dance, Arangetram, the train, bike, Surya, Sandhya, loneliness and more. My appreciation to Nagalakshmi for such a thoughtful cover.

Overall, this is a very heartfelt effort, and seeing someone bring such an imaginative and emotionally layered story to life at just 19 is truly special.

This is the post I am referring to and I did it in Andhra Pradesh sub and I've written it in Telugu. The dream I had was pretty vague and in it one of my friends was shot and it appeared that the temple is Swaminarayan Temple in New Jersey. I've returned back because of racism I faced and also coincidentally it so happened that my investments gave me really good returns and didn't want to take all that and came back.

Few weeks ago, I've chanced upon a post where people are discussing on making a movie on H1-B visa fraud. And I should say those people aren't idiots on internet. They mean what they want to do and do have financial muscle to accomplish that. (Just as they made a movie on Pakistani grooming gangs in UK, 2-3 months ago).

IMO its going to get terribly difficult for all of us living in west, not just in US. And my intuition says its going to hit all of a sudden and you aren't prepared for it. I would seriously suggest to make plans to return and hope you don't have to.

Also I do think that US govt is involved in some way and want to throw away all Indians. Perhaps some actors who are supported by state department(?). I don't know.

As for me, I did plan my return, figured out opportunities back home, made arrangements and the transition was smooth.

I just hope ~6 mill Indians don't have to come back home in an exodus.

I installed a 5.85 kWp rooftop system (10 × 585 W panels, Deye 5 kW single-phase on-grid inverter) under PM Surya Ghar in September. Single-phase supply, net metering with APCPDCL, in a village in Parchur mandal.

The problem: at midday the voltage at my inverter goes very high when it exports at full power.

• 4.8 kW / 16.9 A export → 277.6 V
• 4.98 kW / 17.9 A export → 270.8 V
• About 2 V rise for every amp exported
• Street voltage itself seems to drift from about 235 V to 246 V between 11 AM and 1 PM

One of my ACs shuts off between 9 AM and 4 PM (stabilizer high-voltage cut-off). My neighbour on the same line, who has had 3 kW solar for 3 years, says his new AC also stops at midday but his old one works. So I think the shared street line is part of the problem, not just my house.

What I’ve tried:

• Volt-Watt (PU) curve in Deye Cloud: keeps voltage around 253–255 V, but daily production drops from about 30 kWh to 14–17 kWh.
• Manual power limit at 35%: voltage around 252 V, but loses about half the generation.
• Installer disconnected 5 of the 10 panels: still reached 264.5 V.
• Found the inverter’s over-voltage trip was set to 295 V, so it never disconnects.

Questions for people nearby (Bapatla, Prakasam, Guntur area):

1. Do you see high voltage (above 250 V) at midday, with or without solar?
2. Has anyone got APCPDCL to fix this (transformer tap change, thicker line, new transformer)? How did you raise it, and how long did it take?
3. Did tightening joints or replacing the service wire help anyone?
4. Any Deye users with a PU / Volt-Watt or reactive power setting that worked well on a weak line?
