Please stop trying to make this relevant. It’s been months post event.

They're trying to make it an event that rakes in lots of cash. Watch the downvote brigading. I'd say it's pathetic but it's just transparently dumb and ham fisted.

I don’t understand wonton littering with vehicles for fun. Does anyone clean this stuff up? What about fluid drainage into the ground and water?

They mitigate it some, and remove cars. But there is definitely an environmental impact, and visible pollution. He's making enough off the event to glad hand anyone that brings it up. I cant believe the state or EPA hasn't gotten involved.

Fluids are drained before launch. There’s just enough gasoline in them to get them over the edge. A full cleanup is done afterwards.

I highly doubt they do a full cleanup. They probably pull the car & just make a big pile & add to it every year

Well since you’re not there. You wouldn’t know. “Probably” means you don’t know for sure. It’s cleaned. Every damn year.

I don't doubt they cleaned up, but they dredged out the pond and repelled down the face, cleaning all the parts and fluids?

I think at this point, no answer is going to be sufficient for you... I'm giving up on ruining your fantasy with reality.

It’s redneck stuff

Is this a new thing? I grew up in Anchorage so I’m familiar with the rednecking. I never heard of this in my 27 years there

Not new, started in 2005 but recently has exploded in popularity the last couple of years.

I’ll never be mad at how funny it is. All the negativity can right p’ss off. The waste generated including transportation of the spectators is maybe equal to a single billionaire’s 2 minute carbon footprint.

I was screaming when I saw HAZARD COUNTY on the bus. OMG perfect. 🤣🤣
I can’t help it. I love this shit. 🤣 Remember when David Letterman used to throw shit off the NYC Fire Department towers? EPIC. No idea why it’s so funny. We really are somewhat pathetic, let’s be honest. It’s really one of the great privileges of being human.
The APD car is absolute legend.
I can think of a thousand things I’ve partaken in that are, in the long run, more damaging to the environment than this. Good Lord.
Seriously. I wonder if David Letterman ever knew about this.
